If the Democrats want to win the upcoming election they desperately need a remake. Materially and financially supporting a genocide is a red line that many will not cross. These are people who probably also would not support Trump, so they may either just stay home or vote for a third party.

What's the difference between the Republicans and Democrats right now? One talks more nicely, but they both support the genocide in Gaza and they both want to get tough on immigrants, even though the coups, assassinations and wars they've generated have contributed so much to why people are leaving their countries. And they both cater to the elite class and ignore working people, regardless of what they say.

What do Democrats even stand for?

It was after WWII that the empire officially came into being and determined to pursue global hegemony. The emerging multipolar world is a death sentence for the empire and they are fighting a hopeless rearguard reaction trying to prevent the inevitable.
