Shambolic Washington 80 years later
A shamble of conflicting interests where effective governance becomes impossible.
"The Peter Principle states that if an employee is working efficiently at a given hierarchical level, he will be promoted to the next level above and so on, until he reaches the level where he is inefficient. If he cannot be demoted, this means that all structures naturally evolve towards a balance of greater inefficiency."-- from the book
We now have a hideous genocide on going for six months. A genocide the American president could have stopped in it tracks if he had the present of mind, and the moral backbone to do so. Suddenly Washington is now in a panic mode as it has donned on them there is a presidential election only months away and they had better cover their tracks real quick. Just as they saw fit to carpet bomb Palestinians out of existence, now they have to carpet bomb with propaganda their hideous culpability for a genocide that never should have happened;… just another horror show of the profound disregard the empire has for the lives of others and their rights.
Biden constantly touts his long loyal friendship with Israel but when it comes to a genocide under auspices of the USA you would think 350 million Americans might have something to say as to what is done in their name. As the purported leader of Western Civilization and touted as the world’s most powerful politician he might have acted more prudently. He was not speaking for the American people he was condoning another crime of the empire just as he did in Ukraine.
It occurred to this writer that his Oct 10th, 2023 appearance in Israel might have been for the purpose of shutting down Netanyahu’s butchery. It was not to be. No doubt oblivious to his conflict of interest he gave his toxic blessing and went on his way. Shutting it down could have seen him as a leader of peace and goodwill, as it is Trump is the heir apparent and the emperor in waiting. Biden lost the election on Oct.10th a year in advance.
Now they are trying to be the saviors of Palestine, too little, too late and looking very, very foolish. It shows just how fickle and imprudent decisions made in Washington can be, and who is not in charge.
The Peter Principle is alive and well A congressman doesn’t necessarily, make a good senator nor a senator make a good president. Where cronyism prevails over merit incompetence prevails. It follows that not only do individuals rise to their level of incompetence, whole governments can arrive at the point where they can no longer function, they become shambolic, spining and lying their way out of one crime and incompetence after another in service to the vested interests controlling them.
Why can they no longer function? The answer is apparent in Washington. It has become a shambles, powerful vested interests, conflicting agendas( the needs of the empire vs the needs and rights of the republic, the collapse of democracy and accountability, graft corruption and bribery, the domination of the Deep State and the Military Industry Congressional Complex.
The purpose of government is to govern, not to be a festival of the self-interested serving vested interests, consummed by the hydra headed monster of its own creation. Not only has this government arrived at its level of incompetence it is so adrift it no longer knows how to govern.
As Hannah Arendt noted too many decades ago:
“Although tyranny, because it needs no consent , may successfully rule over foreign people, it can stay in power only if it destroys first of all the national institutions of its own people.”
This is exactly where America and other colonized countries fine themselves today. Tyrannies and empire’s destroy countries from within, destroying legislatures, courts, educational social institutions and humanist values.
To say nothing of the psychological baggage as populations are bombarded with hate mongering, racist propaganda living under constant threat of attack and a world divided between good and evil, and the evil is generated within the halls of power right here at home. We are expected to live in a constant of state apprehended insurrection constructed by the empire of lies.
American historian Chalmers Johnson said much the same:
“A nation can be one or the other, a democracy or an imperialist, but it can't be both. If it sticks to imperialism, it will, like the old Roman Republic, on which so much of our system was modeled, like the old Roman Republic, it will lose its democracy to a domestic dictatorship.”
Johnson wrote the above 20 years ago and the “domestic dictatorship”is here and now.
History has recorded the crimes and corruptions of the empire for all to see. What is lacking is the indictment holding it accountable. Its prosecution is running 80 years late.

If the Democrats want to win the upcoming election they desperately need a remake. Materially and financially supporting a genocide is a red line that many will not cross. These are people who probably also would not support Trump, so they may either just stay home or vote for a third party.
What's the difference between the Republicans and Democrats right now? One talks more nicely, but they both support the genocide in Gaza and they both want to get tough on immigrants, even though the coups, assassinations and wars they've generated have contributed so much to why people are leaving their countries. And they both cater to the elite class and ignore working people, regardless of what they say.
What do Democrats even stand for?
Only 80 years???
