Political peacocks, puppets and platitudes

When idle peacocks do the Devil's work.

The overwhelming beauty of a peacock in full display is platitudinous. Just as the peacock entraps our eye with its stunning display, politicians try to entrap our minds with their endless platitudes and sound bites. We can also see the peacocks display as a deception. What lies behind the beguiling display and all its seductive adornments?

Politicians are like peacocks, they parade around in the finest finery and do nothing but spouting well worn cliches and platitudes. They are choir boys and girls who trip over their own lies and hypocrisies and platitudes.

Peacocks and post modern politicians are not known for profound insights into the world’s issues; nor do they want to as these as they would tangle the puppet strings that animate their every deceit. How they go the bathroom with so many strings attached and so “strung out” has always baffled me.

Some political peacocks stick out more than others by their head dress, as if they are not getting as much attention as they would like….

HRH Peacock PM Trudeau is famous for his silly socks which he puts on full display at every opportunity. If you are a PM whose political fortunes are in precipitous decline flashy socks are a good mass distraction while delivering doctrinaire platitudes.

Like Trudeau’s socks Biden’s obsession with waffle ice cream cones in public does nothing to inspire confidence among the peons .

Just as Nero fiddled while Rome burned good old Joe Biden gorges himself on waffle cones while Washington dies the death of a thousand corruptions and too many wars. He is having a few problems keeping his platitudes straight, like mambo-jumbo in the jungle.

The Peacock Throne has been re-incarnated two hundred years later where peacock politicians loiter in the gilded halls of power awaiting the next tug on their puppet strings.

Cicero gets the last words here when he says “the devil finds work for idle hands to do.” So it is, as peacock politicians, idled and addled, loiter as the West burns down. Flashy turbans, silly socks, and waffle ice cream cones have become the odious adornments of power.

The raging inferno of their vanities cinders their souls and our future.
