Emmanuel Todd wrote in his book Defeat of the West how the west has lost its moral compass and will face an inevitable crisis. Note how western leaders fail to reconcile the contradictions of their advocating "democracy and freedom" on one hand and support genocide, censorship and rule of the jungle on the other. This is pure moral and intellectual bankcrupcy. To be blunt, the citizenry who continue to elect such hypocrites and idiots into the office deserve what they get. One "benefit" of the electoral system in the west is the voters have no one else to blame for their woes. You reap what you sow.

On a fundamental level, I suspect the elites in the west realize their current political/economic model is dangling by a thread and it is time to push society to the next level of control by the superior without the varnish of "democracy, equality, and freedom" which are overhead costs to be shed. Internal repression must be accelerated. Hence, true vulgarians like Trump is now on the stage to usher in this Dark Enlightenment period. Sadly, I don't see a way the population in the west can stop what's happening to them short of an armed revolution - peaceful revolution is simply impossible as the elite controls all the levers of physical violence.

Thank you, very well put! Your articulation of issues is outstanding and I will be quoting this in my next blog.

They are incapable of contrition, only chaotic defeatism.

Over 75% of Trump's budget is for military/police:

That's classic Fascism. Corporatism+Militarism

The MOA of the Empire has always been to identify the next “threat.” Then, in any case of rising civil unrest, that threat can be acted upon, advancing that leader into “War President” status, and truth is the first causality of war. Such is the position of Netanyahu in the Zionist entity, and Starmer in UK. NATO was set up to emulate the alliances in place ahead of WW-I. What could go wrong? War is unfortunately a default activity in the human toolkit. Peace takes actual work.

On this 6th of June, this veteran recalls how we once fought nazis to the death on the beach named Juno, whereas we now send them cash and weapons in Ukraine to fight our former allies. Once again, panzers burn on the steppes, just as during Citadel.

We fought through Europe, sickened at the sights of ethnic cleansing and genocide, and today we stand idly by as monsters cleanse Palestine in the same fashion.

I am disgusted.

Brain dead 'children' playing 'follow the leader'. And this 'play' isn't a bargain.
