Perhaps a bit off subject...but I put huge blame on the advent of 'smart' phones and the social media. I think a price is being paid for paying more attention to whatever this 'must have' gadget brings us - some as 'news', instead of paying more attention to what is going on all around us. Are our 'brains' being numbed on purpose?
