Our western media criticized Carlson for letting Putin speak without aggressively bringing

up human rights, as important as they are. But it was not that sort of interview and I found it interesting to listen and try to form a new perspective on Putin, an important world figure we rarely hear or see. Why haven’t the suggestions to work together Putin claims he made to two US Presidents to cooperate with the west on NATO and placement of weaponry, been discussed? Some cooperation with Putin could give us opportunities to address human rights in a better atmosphere.

You should read some of Putin's speeches . They tell a lot about who he is and what he stands for.

His foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov is highly regarded world wide and there are line ups to meet him at international conferences.

At one point Putin offered to join NATO and he was snubbed.

The western media has been trashing Russia and its intentions for too long.

Yes, Putin said in his interview that he had made offers of cooperation to two US Presidents. Now that you mention it too, I know I was not imagining. What good does vilifying Putin do, and yes the assassinations are dreadful, but turning him into a pariah in the west will not help. Perhaps he would respond to overtures. It surely can’t hurt us to try.

You assume that Putin is a man of his word. That assumption is egregiously incorrect.

Have not assumed anything about Putin. Believe for peace we need to listen and try to understand. By establishing some relationship we would be in a better position to work for human rights.

To me, our present Western leaders are self-centered, selfish, hypocrites who see the world only through their eyes, totally ignoring reality.

I refer to the US and Canada as the two I know best but I think it applies to all NATO countries, all of which are puppet states to the empire and have suffered accordingly. Empires ruin nation states.

George Galloway is doing his best to save the UK. He might just succeed!
