This needs clarification as to WHO is the 'emperor'...Trump or Musk??? The brewing chaos will be one for the books.

Thought it would be obvious to all to whom I am referring, but have captioned the picture just in case. Now Musk is revealing his part in what is becoming a coup d'etat where they are determined to shut down the government where absolute power resides within the Trump cabal. So much for making America great again.

This is an aspect I never thought of and so plausible.

Another cranium expansion... Thanks!

Has anyone even remotely foreseen this? Scary.

For me Trump has failed every litmus test I have set for him. Even though I have tried to give him the benefit of my doubts he is a raging bull out of control and now it is only a question of how much damage he will do.

It has been on my mind lately that the latest chapter in the collapse of democracy has been the death of the legislatures in both Canada and the US. Now they are the outsiders petitioning Trump to quit stealing their thunder which they have been gradually abdicating over many decades.

We are seeing just how thunderous the collapse of democracy is, especially so, when we are such complex societies with our systems of governance so thoroughly corrupted.

There are no quick fixes, levels of restoration are yet be to defined and may be beyond our control. The road back gets longer with each passing day and real change will be the challenge of generations to come.

It shouldn't be surprising to see democracy (or what passes to be it) collapsing. KAKISTOCRACY has made it possible...with a good helping of greed, corruption and $$$. And now we are at the mercy of AI shenanigans. The entire world is in a state of upheaval...much by design.

Kakistocracy, Demagoguery, Oligarchy, Autocracy, Fascism, in my humble opinion are the end result and consequences of the collapse of democracy.

The neoliberalism and predatory capitalism of the last fifty years have been huge factors in crushing democracy.

We are loath to address the ruinous ideologies that threaten us most of which go the very essence of Western decline. 500 years later and we still can't discuss or bury imperialism.

We are the victims of too many excesses.

Would it be too much too ask that the Democrats and Republicans rise to the occasion, go into a coalition and boot Trump out of office. After all at their convenience they claim to be "bipartisan". Now they might do so to save the Republic.

Hope is last to die...or such. Sadly, most of these elected officials - once in office, can only think of themselves and what is in it for them. This is nothing new. As for booting Trump...it will happen but it'll take time. Translating from a German saying...he won't die of natural causes.

Or, the spirit of a culture dies buried in the landfill of consumerism. In human history, now itself relegated to the dustbin of history, "culture" was the production, preparation and enjoyment of food. Thus, a regional cuisine could exist. No more.
