The Corporate straw men of the West... going radioactive
The lunacy of the corporate straw men is going radioactive and highly contagious. The world community must rescue the future from the radioactive straw men of the barbaric West.
The straw men of the west Walking the fields of plenty, Starved of soul, Desiccated of feeling, Radioactive corporate lackeys Dancing to the devil's tune. .
I should be cheering for the home team; but first they have to be worthy of my support. I refuse to cheer for straw men when my first loyalty is to the truths of history and the future of planet Earth.
The west is very much a ghetto of the mind and soul desperately trying to shut out the dawning of a new age. It is practicing a fraudulent and lethal insularity that is a race to the bottom. Read More…
In times of great crisis great truths issue forth. Crisis and chaos are also times of revelations, too many of which are painful and induce massive despair. The depth of the despair is proportionate to the lack of consciousness. Knowing and understanding are the first steps to peace of mind and the road back to normalcy— if there is such a thing when change is on steroids and we live at such an accelerated pace. These are overwhelming times when we we are pushed to our limits by demonic forces out of control. These must be identified before there can be any resolution.
The politicos of the West are corporate straw men doing their masters bidding. They are the whores of Western corporations wanting to rule the world. They are just following orders from head office. Corporations only see the world in terms of "hostile take overs" and politicians are their thugs.
Diplomacy, reconciliation and human decency are not part of the game. Money and power are the bottom line. This is what happens when unchecked corporate power wipes out democracy and human decency and turns politicians into bribed and paid for lackeys.
The straw men of the West only understand escalation and brinkmanship as this is their illiterate and immoral schooling. Both are synonymous with school yard bullying as the name of the game is to intimidate and threaten until the opponent yields; not acceptable in school yards and even less acceptable to settle complex issues on a global stage where the consequences can be so dire and far reaching.
Diplomacy has never been an American trait as arrogant ultimatums, gun boat diplomacy, military interventions and regime change have been its forte for too long. They only speak the language of hard power, winner take all, and divide, conquer and subjugate.
John Foster Dulles was the US Secretary of State in the 1950's. He was a corporate lawyer and coined the term "brinkmanship". He was never shy about going to the Defense Dept. or employing the CIA as a means to "close deals" in service to his client investors (Read the The Dulles Brothers by Stephen Kinzer). His brother Allan was the first head of the CIA, a very sinister character, and their legacy thrives today.(Read The Devil’s Chess board by David Talbot.)
Brinkmanship is really no more than a euphemism for incessant bullying, which is an infantile game; especially when geopolitics and nuclear weapons are involved.
While the Dulles brothers were being the god fathers to the burgeoning American empire, America’s most famous diplomat and strategist George Kennan was forced into an early retirement as early as1950. He was an advocate for soft power and was pushed out by the war hawks who wanted to mimic all the crimes of the British empire on a grander scale.
Kennan was the architect of “containment” where America could hold its place in the world through resolute diplomacy; but he advised against military interventions, proxy wars, and the covert crimes of the CIA. He was on the committee that founded the CIA and deeply regretted how quickly its mandate was corrupted by Allan Dulles. Keenan was also fired from his position by John Foster Dulles. He was deeply concerned over his country’s head long rush into militarism and more wars. The older brother was the hardliner, no quarter given.
History has exonerated Kennan as so many of his prophecies have proven accurate as the social, human and financial costs of the empire’s endless wars have come home to roost.
Kennan lived a full life passing away at the age of 101 in 2005. Around that same time Chalmers Johnson also passed away. Both were powerful writers and true prophets of the American scene. Their passing can be seen as the final culmination of diplomacy in America at the very time it is needed more ever. Now foreign policy is spin and out right lies subject to change on the turn of the screw.
The Kennans and the Johnsons were true prophets, marginalized as dissidents when their sagacity and knowledge should have been at center stage. Where America’s great brain trust of today should prevail in the halls of power it is shouted down by an utterly corrupt media and the political zombies with their fattened wallets and specious words.
The West has become Sheldon Wolin’s fugitive democracies; where we have the trappings of democracy with no actual democracy. Elections are empty rituals where candidates shout out at electorates they hold in contempt hoping to win another free ride on the gravy train pimping for corporate power and corporate wars.
As democracy declines so too does the stature of the of those willing to run for office. Those who bring integrity and progressive values to the democratic process are marginalized by the frauds and opportunists. The psychopaths, narcissists, and fake populists come to the fore front where they are denounced and shamed by those who speak reliable and verifiable truths and the millions world wide who speak for decency and humanity.
The Emergence of the East and Decline of the West
The linchpin of today’s world crisis dates back to the aftermath of World War ll. George Kennan was the director of American post war strategy and he warned his government that it was only a matter of time before Asia moved forward to take its place in the world. The USA then had 50% of the world’s wealth but only 4% of its population, so the emergence of Asia with its huge populations was an existential threat to America’s hegemonic ambitions. He was the architect of the containment strategy for both the USSR and eventually China. Where Kennan advocated resolute diplomacy the war hawks immediately reverted to the militarist option, the accelerated building of the empire, endless wars and brinkmanship.
How real was the communist threat to the world will long be debated. But there can be no doubt the US used Cold War l was a cover for empire building. It was quick to go to war in both Korea and Vietnam. When the USSR collapsed in 1989 there was no peace dividend as the US simply reset it sights on global domination and the emerging China as the target of Cold War ll.
While China has been waging peace and prosperity and building the world’s biggest economy and a middle class of 800 million, Washington has been waging war on the world, pursuing globalization to dominate the world, going deeply in debt, with its democracy in collapse, and experiencing The sorrows of Empire.
When BRICS was formed in 2006 it was a new trade and economic power block, and a direct challenge to American hegemonic ambitions and its hot pursuit of the corporatist globalized world.
The containment of China has failed as has Asia in its entirety. It has asserted its right to prosperity and affluence in the world escaping the racist imperialism of the West. The 80% of Asia have challenged the1% of the West and the only response the West can make is global nuclear war, endless chaos and anarchy.
We are seeing the collapse of the American empire, the Republic and the West all in one. We are seeing the ruinous costs of empire and how their corruptions and megalomania can ruin whole civilizations— repeatedly as one more of the immutable cycles of history.
Empire’s are the pipe dreams of racist imperialists, doomed to fail as they are inevitably mismanaged corruptions by fallible despots.
The collapse did not come about because of the malevolence China or Russia but only because the West refuses to acknowledge that as long as life on the planet exists— as it has done for the last 4 billion years — change is a constant — in our era more dynamic and persistent than ever. It refuses to be accountable for its egregious incompetence and criminality.
The West has recklessly adopted and practiced ruinous ideologies for decades ranging from imperialism, to crony capitalism, neoliberalism, militarism, unaccountable predatory corporatism and more….. all present in our societies simultaneously erasing democracy and humanism.
When they left office prosecutors considered indicting the Dulles brothers for crimes against America. They never acted on them. In his book David Talbot suggests Allan Dulles have might been charged with treason had Roosevelt not died prematurely, as he had deliberately under cut the president’s policies. Part of the history of American presidencies is their executive powers are undercut by powerful lobbies, presiding bureaucrats and unelected ideologues.
The lunacy of the corporate straw men is going radioactive and highly contagious.
The world community must rescue the future from the radioactive straw men of the barbaric West.
But what Roosevelt set up would have led to the same place regardless, hyper concentrated power structures centered in powerful and untouchable centralized bureaucracies with greatly undermined and hollowed out local political parties whose total loss of power and autonomy were destined squelch out their role in generating vibrant democratic communities. And combined with all that, his *form* of internationalism would one way or another lead to imperialism.
The question is how?
So funny, I was just about to start writing a post along very similar lines.
Have you thought about running for office, Robert?
