When presidents become vultures
When goons, loons and poltroons clutter the political landscape.
Donald Trump announces this morning that he will run for president. His hair will announce on Friday.
—Albert Brooks
Donald Trump has a great campaign slogan: “A complex world demands complex hair.”
—David Letterman
Stupid presidents, smart presidents, white presidents, black presidents—doesn’t work! What this country needs is a crazy Third World dictator. And Donald Trump has what it takes to be that. He’s already got a plane with his name on it, solid gold buildings, a harem. … This is what I’ve been waiting for my whole life. A president who’s not afraid to tell the truth about being a lying asshole.
—Lewis Black
Vulture capitalism inevitably leads to vulture politics and vulture presidencies
“I don't even know what to classify myself as anymore.” This is the opening line of a longer comment from a reader. I didn’t have to read much further to know exactly what she was referring to. We all have classification problems these days as we are victims of political anarchy imposed on us. We have been reclassified, disenfranchised and betrayed.
The culpability is not ours but the quisling politicos who are mandated to provide peace, order, and good government. They are our elected representatives who are supposed speak to our concerns and build better societies. Instead they abandon their ships of state, squander trillions of taxpayer dollars on foreign wars, genocides, and kill off other nation states to achieve their pipe dream of global conquest. They have declared war on the world and their own societies which they are more than willing to cannibalize to finance their megalomania.
We certainly have been reclassified as we were citizens in so called progressive democratic nation states, now we are slaves to the empire’s wars and the social disintegration that ensues.
We have been disenfranchised as we can go to the ballot box but our votes mean nothing because of the collusion that goes on between defunct political parties, and the powerful vested interests and lobbyists who control government to suit their agendas.
It is only in the last few years where after many decades of incremental decay, democracy has gone into full collapse and governments have resigned their autonomy as victims of the “rolling corporate coup d’etat” usurping democracy. Ultimately national governments are conscripted as servants to the corporatist imperialist wars on the world that won’t be ending any time soon as accountability-the keystone of democracy— has been retired and lawlessness prevails.
Betrayal and abandonment are synonymous as they haunt our societies.
Whether they are presidents, prime ministers or chancellors the west has suffered a collective collapse of leadership and it is no coincidence it embodies the 32 NATO countries which are a wolf pack, where the pack mentality prevails, and the alpha wolf is suffering uncontrollable deliriums.
Political leaders have abdicated their responsibilities to the war lords, indulging themselves in their self interest, the perks of power, and unprecedented moral depravity, the scale of which Humankind has never seen before and we may never see again.
It never occurs to these loons, goons and poltroons that the situation is critical and there are no magic wands that are going to mitigate the disaster they have created.
There are off ramps readily available, only hubris and stupidity prevents their use.
We are in a time when governance is more demanding and complex than ever and clearly those in charge are least capable of dealing with it. It is utterly pathetic that America’s best and brightest have little or influence on government and are relegated to the margins where their voices and wisdom go unheard.
The flaws and breakdown of western governments is so egregious they are going to have to be reconstituted and restructured and staffed with better quality people. As democracy has been allowed to collapse so to has the quality of candidates entering politics, with their predisposition to sacrifice their integrity to the money tree. They are vultures, too many of which are geriatric, shamelessly feeding on the dead corpse of democracy and political integrity.
The senility of old age, belated retirements, too much power, too much money and the psychosis of endless war and theft from the public purse have become the ruinous norm . Under the present system legislators spend half their time fund raising for the next election, swarmed by hordes of lobbyists, and reading specious words off teleprompters.
After all this time the Kennedy Papers have still been not been released. The fact that they have not been released indicates America is held hostage to a lie. His assassination prompted waves of research and books impeaching the Warren Commission. It is now common knowledge the CIA was involved in his assassination.
The circumstances of Kennedy’s death sent a message to future presidents. No Reformers Allowed. Presidents since his time have been no more than visiting CEO’s presiding over a board of directors where the decisions have all been made by high power lobbyists and unelected ideological bureaucrats.
To look at the histories of subsequent presidents is to see the measurable decline of the integrity of the office of the president who can only work within the coercive parameters set by others, and ruinously tuned to expediencies of the empire and its parasitic appetites.
With the events of the last few years the empire’s dominance over government has become replete. Presidents are now barrack emperors in service to the empire’s every barbarism.
The current presidential race is to see who will preside over the ruins. Neither of the front runners would qualify to run if democracy and political integrity were in place. As it is, which of the two will be ordained the presidential vulture dancing in the ruins?
The pending presidential election might as well be decided on the flip of a coin as voters have no real choice.
Vulture capitalism inevitably leads to vulture politics and vulture presidencies.
It all depends on the amount of grift from Demoncraps, Repugnicans and the BORG that will be tribute to the Voting machine corpses like Dominion.
There was Never reasonable excuse to vote in the U$A, in the last 40+ years.
Canada became that way in 2016.
So many politicians are 'criminally negligent' and yet, so many keep being re-elected time and time again - thanks to voters. There should be a limit on how many terms a politician (at any level) can serve.
