Washington and NATO hostage to their delusional wars
When blowback renders the empire hostage.
“Beyond terrorism, the danger I foresee is that we are embarked on a path not so dissimilar from that of the former Soviet Union a little more than a decade ago. It collapsed for three reasons—internal economic contradictions, imperial overstretch, and an inability to reform. In every sense, we were by far the wealthier of the two Cold War superpowers, so it will certainly take longer for similar afflictions to do their work. But it is nowhere written that the United States, in its guise as an empire dominating the world, must go on forever. The blowback from the second half of the twentieth century has only just begun.”—Chalmers Johnson,Cardiff, California,October 2003
The Washington/NATO cabal has finally been revealed for all the world to see. Washington is notorious as the seat of empire, while NATO tries to pass as a defense alliance which it hasn’t been for the last forty years. When the USSR collapsed in1991 NATO should have been disbanded as per the wishes of many European member states who wanted to take charge of their own security.
Washington though was determined to maintain its beachhead and colonization of Europe. Doing so was part of a grand strategy of sweeping eastward and gobbling up all of Eurasia. The first step forward was to make former USSR satellites (the Warsaw Pact) NATO member states pushing right up to Russia’s border. As so many pundits predicted a war with Russia was inevitable provoked by a coup d’etat in Ukraine in 2014, with 8 years spent since in preparing Ukraine for war against Russia.
The infamous Minsk Agreements were used to buy time for this build up. By 2022, with the failure of long sought after security agreements arrogantly refused by NATO, Russia was forced to initiate its SMO (Special Military Operation) to intervene in the eastern provinces where the predominant ethnic Russian majorities were being killed off. As Western propagandists claimed it was an all out invasion; it was never Russia’s intention to seize all of Ukraine, only to repatriate the eastern provinces.
The old adage goes that to start wars is easy, to end them is much more difficult. It also follows that the aggressor nation can also become hostage to wars it provoked or condoned. The US is now hostage to a war in Ukraine it has lost but cannot acknowledge as defeating Russia, using Ukraine as Proxy, was the next step in gobbling up all of Eurasia.
By condoning and materially supporting the Gaza genocide Washington became hostage to Israel’s war, where the ongoing genocide is a pretext for a greater regional war, now threatening .
Washington used Ukraine as a proxy against Russia. Now Israel by the force of its powerful lobby and hold over US foreign policy is using Washington as its proxy. The US president “green-lighting” the Gaza genocide on October 10th, 2023 will go down in history as one of the greatest geopolitical blunders ever.
In both theaters of conflict the cabal is the loser as it can only win by major interventions committing its own conventional forces to greater wars and potentially nuclear exchanges. Where western populations protest and are appalled by the deaths of Ukrainians and Palestinians further escalation invites revolution and civil war. Where idiot politicians know no boundaries citizens do.
Most recently there is much discussion regarding the silence of Iran in not retaliating against Israeli for its most recent war crimes and provocations. The reason, from where I sit, is that they are fully aware they are dealing with a mad dog nuclear armed pariah looking for an excuse to blow Iran off the map.
To their credit countries like Russia, China and Iran and many others have shown great forbearance in dealing with endless Western aggressions and belligerence. We in the West can be thankful they have shown such forbearance otherwise the world would be much more crippled than it is today.
We must see the world as it is, never through the propaganda and lies of war mongers and despots.
History is going to pass harsh judgements on those who were instrumental in creating these conflicts, with such naked foreign policy incompetence. They create wars where they become hostages to their own failed machinations and accelerate the decline of the West.
All this at a time in world history where such infantile buffoonery ends in disaster and is no longer affordable in a world struggling to adapt to overwhelming change.
The stunning prophecy of Chalmers Johnson
Where I come from Mark Twain and Chalmers Johnson are two of the greatest Americans ever. Both writers, both great intellects; giving their country the greatest gift a citizen can give — the gift of prophecy, insight into the soul of their country.
Unfortunately, the USA is still a frontier culture where tricks and treachery prevail over the wisdom of its elders. Late 19th Century political culture loiters about even now, as described in Archibald Lampman’s 1898 poem, The Modern Politician. The bohunk saloon politics of the 19th century has no place in the 21st century.
Where Twain and Johnson would be national icons in a more mature society, they are shunned to the archives of history. Prophets and sages of the West, living and dead, are slandered out of existence by war mongering barbarians. In just over a hundred years the West is hosting our third world war and the first truly global war. Where cultures like Russia, China and others have internalized the wisdom and legacies handed down to them the crass commercial West is a sink hole where greed, stupidity and endless war prevail.
Just over twenty years a go Johnson wrote his famous trilogy, The Sorrows of Empire, Nemesis and Blowback, plus others including Dismantling the Empire:
“At the time, one aspect of the Clinton administration especially worried me. In the aftermath of the breakup and disappearance of the Soviet Union, U.S. officials seemed unbearably complacent about America’s global ascendancy. They were visibly bathed in a glow of post–Cold War triumphalism. It was hard to avoid their high-decibel assertions that our country was “unique” in history, their insistence that we were now, and for the imaginable future, the “lone superpower” or, in the words of Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, “the indispensable nation.” The implication was that we would be so for an eternity. If ever there was a self-satisfied country that seemed headed for a rude awakening, it was the United States.— Johnson, Chalmers. Dismantling the Empire: America's Last Best Hope (pp. 1-2).
Can it be concluded that this arrogant delusion of being “the indispensable nation” is the seed of America’s own destruction. How can anyone be indifferent to the fact the crash of the USSR was the fourth empire to collapse in the 20th century? The rise and fall of empires is an immutable cycle of history assured by mankind’s fallibility.
Coincidental to when when I was born I have a front row seat to the rise and fall of an empire. The fall doesn’t just happen. It is the end result of historic events, wars and harbingers over many decades, as predictable as the daily weather, for historians and others who know the cycles and dictates of history. Where we do not listen to the true prophets, false prophets prevail, which is one very big reason we are in this mess.
Johnson stands out as a true prophet because he wrote several books on the decline and his analysis and prophecy proves devastatingly accurate. Similarly, in his time, Mark Twain spoke with great insight on the danger of empires.
Empires slander history, silence true prophets, and assassinate true patriots.
In spite of Johnson’s warnings and those of many others the empire is a hostage to its wars and trapped in the vortex of decline.
When the doltish George W. Bush, addressed a joint session of Congress on September 20th 2001 he said, "Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." The decline was officially inaugurated and the Republic hostage to the empire’s delusions. He affirmed America’s role as the leading terrorist state with the many wars that followed their after.
Twenty-three years later the delusion appears more out of control than ever. The empire and its NATO offspring are now hostage to their delusional pretensions as the world suffers through their chaotic decline.
My comment from elsewhere:
"We, in the West have zero idea what could come down the pipe.
The entitlement spread between haves and have-nots is not someone in their 20's anymore it's 12 years old:
12 year olds are riding e-bikes around my town and parents are ready to kill to allow them to do that. They vehemently dislike my ethics morals and values - comes out in the diatribe.
"E-bikes are transforming our town..." via convenience and entitlement.
Imagine these kids being sold for sex, or have their organs stolen.
I'm sure their parents can't wait."

This explains why Russians born before 1970 don't want American-style "democracy" - and "Chicago Boys" like Jeffrey Sachs.
Obviously they haven't felt the 'draft' yet...
