Voices from the past speak louder than ever.
There are powerful voices speaking to us from the past. Are we willing to speak their truth?
When I became acquainted with the speeches and writing of Martin Luther King I knew why he was assassinated and who assassinated him. He, like so many others, most prominently the Kennedy brothers, as agents of peace and human progress had to be silenced if the US was to be converted to a warfare state chasing global hegemony. It wasn’t enough that WW ll saw the deaths of a hundred million people there were dark forces gathering in America for more wars even before WW ll ended. Their Russian ally was the new nemesis as it along with China controlled the heartland so enviously coveted by the craven despots of the West.
King and others made the courageous decision that silence was not an option in the face of a horrendous betrayal and insurrection. His opposition to war was so powerful, eloquent and articulate he becomes an essential reference in today’s epic battle for peace in a world betrayed. He lives on in spirit to inspire our own activism and pursuit of peace and freedom.
He is only there for us if we consult our history where he and so many others instruct our activism. The desecration of the NOW occurs when we are ignorant of our history which anchors our sense of reality. What little we know we allow propagandists and despots to block us. Passivity in the NOW is abject defeatism. History and its many sages are there to instruct us, but only if we are willing to look, listen and break the fascist imposed silence of our times.
The despots are the false prophets determined to destroy us. The true prophets are the true patriots and martyrs who can save us. King stands very tall among them, as does JFK who suspected he was targeted and fought on. They had the courage to break silence and we owe it to them to continue that fight.
A crime of our times, in the year 2023, is the West has inherited a tremendous humanist legacy which is being slandered and simply washed away. At a time we should be embracing and perpetuating the legacy and moving forward we are traveling backwards in time. We refuse to acknowledge we have been living in a state of insurrection, enslaved to endless wars, declining democracies and insidious assaults on our rights and freedoms.
We all live in societies in various states of disrepair. As I have stated elsewhere the wars we are now experiencing are wars against the very existence of nation states. The wars the fascist globalists are waging are aimed at establishing a feudal global state run by autocratic power elites in their own interest; in other words a world frozen in time where there is no past, no future, just the indelible Orwellian world of 1984.
In the time of Kennedy and King we came close to nuclear annihilation on more than one occasion. The Cuban Missile Crisis is the best known when Kennedy and Khrushchev saved the day. As the empire declines the nuclear option looms large, accidentally or with deliberate intent, especially when it could be seen as the “Hail Mary pass,” as the empire’s last gasp. We must push that option out of existence. We have seen the vindictiveness of the empire too often.
The gods are effectively working on our behalf driving the crazies crazier by each day; their lies become more naked, their incompetence screams at us, and their desperation palpable.
Twice in two years they have committed atrocities trying to project power over a world they no longer control.
The decline becomes gains momentum and more smothering with each bomb dropped and every lie told.
Russia and China are no longer the enemy, but the countervail, containing the dying empire’s delusional ambitions.
What is happening now might prevent an even greater war against China the empire will have to forego.
The chorus of dissent must be louder and more articulate in memory of Martin Luther King, the Kennedies and so many others who tried to insist on peace in their times too many decades ago.
We must look to the past, heap scorn on the threatening present, and rescue our futures.
Ditto. But maybe the fundamental issue is that those willing to use violence will by definition always prevail over those that are more restrained and self-doubting. Just a re-phrasing of the age-old "The moron is cock-sure while the wise woman full of self doubt". And once we rise, will we turn into what we hate? See Israel, for example. I think we either need to disappear or evolve into something different than the aggressive chimpanzees we currently are.
Their truths will only be heard if we are willing to listen to them. Today's society, so it seems to me, is too much into itself to pay attention to some of that 'old stuff'. One generation always thinking it is smarter than the previous one...and we thought the same of our parents.
