Trudeau and Trump clowns into the vacant empire pass...
Trump has already shown he has no intention of building a better America for Americans. He is attempting to patch the tires of a empire blown out and stuck in the 20th century.
Here at History’s Parrot I have a full hopper of blogs I am readying for posting in 2025. In these tumultuous times there is no shortage of rich, informative and combative content, all at a time when we are witnesses to the most critical global transitions in history.
A paid subscription puts you on my email list where you have first access. It is also a door way to the Substack community where some of the world’s best journalists and authorities are posting— an inspiration for us all !
Now more than ever we must see the world as it is, and move forward to better more rational and peaceful futures. Do join me on the quest.
To study Western politics of the last hundred years is a history of moral and ethical collapse where so-called leaders are casualties of broken democracies, political parties have failed, and overt treason against populations they are supposed to serve is rampant.
Over the course of too many decades so many voices have called out for the necessity of better governance (especially now when the challenges are that much greater) and the quality and integrity of governance is worse that ever.
When did people to cease to matter, and grifters, fascists and war mongers come to destroy the norms we claim to live by and turn them into a mockery? Politics has become the theater of the absurd.
We have come to see politics as a sport, a latter day Roman Colosseum for mass distraction and total destruction.
We are past the point of critical mass where the momentum of self-destruction only escalates, and the chaos deepens.
How we govern ourselves is now the most critical issue facing us as failed governance now has become so unconscionable where bad decisions and corruptions impact millions and even billions and future generations.
We have been led to walk away from the the rule of law, what is civil, decent and ethical. There is no statecraft no magnanimity and no altruism.
The potential for things to get worse is endless as the eminent American political scientist Chalmers Johnson once noted as part of his brilliant and prescient analysis of what was the present and the future for the USA.
Are we ready to reconstitute and reform how we govern ourselves, for interim governments and constituent assemblies?— our futures demand it.
There are many politicians on my New Years Dishonorable Shit List(NYDSL) The two above are at the very top of my list, topping it for too long and too often.
Justin Trudeau is a dilettante political scallywag of the worst sort. His father was one of our better prime ministers. Even though I never voted for him he was a man and politician who commanded respect. He was, I contend, Canada’s last liberal prime minister as all prime ministers since have been neoliberals and all federal politicians are generally closet neoliberals.
Neoliberalism is all-pervasive in Canada as it is in the USA, but a taboo topic never mentioned; like, empire, imperialism, colonization, corporatism— according to Billyard’s Law of Political Perversity(BLPP),— the issues that devastate our societies are the least discussed. Politics is the window dressing for the war mongering corporatocracy that rules over all , reducing politicians to over paid eunuch’s in the whore house.
There will be no progressive change in the West as long as corporations control governments. ( It is worth noting the main reason China has performed its “economic miracle” is that its government has dominance over its resident corporations and can plan the economy accordingly. In the West politicians are bought and paid for, pimping for corporate wars and corporate profits.)
Conservative Brian Mulroney succeeded Pierre Trudeau as PM and had such a visceral hatred of Trudeau’s liberalism he gave the country away to the Americans. So when Donald Trump says Canada can be the 51st state he is for once telling the truth. When you give away your economic sovereignty, so goes your political sovereignty.
Canadians destroyed Mulroney's Progressive Conservative Party(PCP) in the 1993 election as punishment for his betrayal. This fractured the conservative party which gave John Chretien( a former Trudeau cabinet minister) a free ride for ten years as the conservatives were split. In 2003 they reformed as the CPC under Stephen Harper who was PM from 2006 to 2015.
Harper was a devotee of the US Republicans and brought Canada further under the stars and stripes. Harper’s far right conservatism and predisposition to Washington’s rule so repulsed Canadians they granted Justin Trudeau a landslide victory in 2015 which neither he or his party was prepared for and Canada has suffered accordingly.
Justin Trudeau entered politics in 2008 and was elected leader and after a lack luster performance as MP became party leader in 2013. He won on his family name so much so that a more capable candidate dropped out knowing he was wasting his time and money. Once leader many journalists questioned his qualifications; but the party was entranced with their newly minted Dorian Grey and the image was to go on fast fade. His father advised him early on he was not suited to politics…
The quality of political leadership has fallen disastrously behind the times. Where the world is much more populated, complex and integrated bad political decisions and poor leadership have negative existential impacts for millions, even billions including future generations. This is going to require attracting better leadership, a major shake up in how political parties operate, a return to responsible representative government and rigorous accountability.
Trudeau campaigned on a platform of “Real Change” touting himself as a bona fide progressive. But he was so busy indulging in the perks of power, foreign travel, one scandal after another, poor judgment, and political correctness his government never coalesced into a force for progressive change. He over saw too many cabinet changes. Ministers never had the opportunity become effective in their portfolios. During his tenure there have been no less than six Foreign Affairs ministers.
Where his father’s magnetism drew talented politicians into the party and his cabinets, the son has driven out some of his best talent and hogged the limelight never giving his key cabinet ministers the opportunity to develop a public persona of their own. The untimely firing of Chrystia Freeland is just another example of his inept political judgment.
In 2019 he sought a new majority in the false expectation his government was deserving of it. Disgruntled voters gave him only a weak minority and he was so petulant as to call another federal election in 2021 contemptuous of the voters judgment—with the same result— another weak minority.
Trudeau’s decade long political honeymoon was a parody where all the world was cringing and his delinquent caucus left him loose to shame the country before the world and into the vacant empire pass.
Trump got out his red cap and rode to fame on the slogan of ”Make America Great Again”. If only it were true. It can easily be argued that America has yet to achieve its full potential as a nation, and that it has squandered golden opportunities to do so. It has only emerged in the last hundred years as a major world power, and is already in eclipse in a world where change comes fast and furious by the hyperdynamic forces that drive change in our time.
Coming out of WW ll the USA was the only major power intact and positioned for great prosperity and true greatness. Instead it dropped the first atomic bombs, killed Kennedy, and declared war on the world using the USSR as its nemesis. When the USSR collapsed in 1990 a new nemesis was created with 9/11 as the false flag for the war on terrorism, led by the world’s leading terrorist state.
Trump arrives in office 30 years after the American Empire reached its apex in the 1990’s and it has been waning ever since addicted to the cost and consequences of endless war and the expediencies of empire. As democracy faded out of existence presidents served the empire rather than the Republic. This is the fundamental reason the Biden presidency was such an abject calamity. He recklessly and incompetently fostered wars and genocide revealing the rot within the halls of power.
It should be of great concern to all that the historic continuum for the present wars and calamity date all the way back to WW ll where too many issues and ideologies have been left to spiral out of control and WW ll was no more than a prequel to WW lll which is now being fought militarily and economically.
Trump has inherited the office of the presidency at a time when it has been grievously discredited and can only be seen as having token value given the powerful vested interests and lobbyists controlling it and both houses of Congress.
Only now is he telling how he intends to make America great again and that is the return to imperialism which is dead in the water as the world is rushing towards BRICS and the new multipolarism.
He wants to repossess the Panama Canal, even though it is a rapidly diminishing asset because of global warming and an acute shortage of water for the locks. He plans on annexing Canada as the 51st state when in fact it is already a US vassal state. He wants to annex Greenland which is no more than an over sized ice iceberg factory.
Making America great is to stay home mind its own business and rebuilt and reconstitute the Republic which has been gutted by the parasitic empire over too many decades. Kennedy started the country down the road to greatness and then came the insurrection.
America still only speaks for 5% of the world’s population as it did 75 years ago. Where is the glowing citadel on the Ronald Reagan talked about?
After the wars and traumatic upheavals of recent years Trump’s administration has a double indemnity, to re-establish legitimacy, but also demonstrate the skill set and diplomacy to deal with a very volatile and precarious world situation and be prepared to take responsibility for much of what has gone wrong.
America like other countries of the West must upgrade their quality of their governance commensurate with the challenges of the 21st century.
Trudeau and Trump are very different politicians but both are casualties of failed democracies and systemic corruptions. Both are liable as defined by their time in office. Where Trudeau’s political career is over Trump has won a temporary bizarre reprieve.
Trump’s presidency will prove to be even more volatile as his cabinet is replete with war hawks and inept partisan appointments. He leads a party that is reactionary, anti-government, and totally beset by powerful lobbies and intractable corruptions.
Trump has already shown he has no intention of building a better America for Americans. He is attempting to patch the tires of a empire blown out and stuck in the 20th century.
Endless predation and the endless pursuit of dominance do not have happy endings as History has shown us over and over again.
Where too many governments of the West have floundered badly over too many decades they now become provisional and probationary.
Henceforth, any Western government that does not focus on peace, reconciliation and better governance assumes even greater criminal liability for the collapse of Western Civilization; when in fact it may already be beyond saving according to the dictates of history.
America would do the world a BIG favour...minding it's own business.
Trudeau and all CANADIAN POLITICIANS ARE SOCK PUPPETS OF USA.
