These are complex chaotic times where the measure of our humanity is being taken in very broad strokes for some more than others as empathy is in short supply. Humanist values have been neglected and abused in our times. They have been slain over and over by the agents of chaos.

It has been suggested we live in a world of techno-megalomania where humanism has just simply been pushed aside where we are no more than voyeurs amusing ourselves to death. History, the great storyteller of where we have been, where we are, and where are going suffers a perpetual death. Maybe we are just in a permanent state of future shock.

The mask of fake liberalism has fallen off

For too many decades the west has maintained the pretense of being liberal democracies and promoting western style democracy around the world. In fact this has been one more ploy in their pursuit of global domination. In the west democracy has collapsed. So have the zombies who brought about the collapse revealed themselves. They have lost control of their agenda. They are in business suits, traumatized and full of spite that their malicious dream and the power and glory has passed them by. They have been so busy marauding others dreams and inalienable rights, their arrogant conceited triumphalism has done them in.

The mask has been torn off by endless wars, endless greed, corruptions and ruinous ideologies. The ghoulish zombies have been revealed. This is not a Hollywood movie but the reality of our times.

In 1987 British prime minister Margaret Thatcher declared her social revolution when she said “there is no such thing as society". To be forewarned is to be forearmed, but her war cry went unheard. She along with Ronald Reagan was one of the god parents of neoliberalism. Gullible as they were, they unthinkingly bought into Milton Friedman’s “free market economy”/neoliberalism which was really a corporate coup d’etat where corporations stole the sovereignty of governments. It is no coincidence zombie politicians are attired in their impeccable business suits, they have become bag-persons for a corporatist fascist agenda.

Today Britain is generally acknowledged as a economic and social basket case. This is the wretched legacy Thatcher and her successors have imposed on the country, a once great empire reduced to a Washington puppet state begging for alms.

With the mask gone we see our political classes for what they are, neoliberal zombies who have betrayed themselves and the nation states they are mandated to serve. They have fallen into a trap created by their own egregious behaviors.

The history of the west since WW ll has been a reckless indulgence and now, once again, we see the towers of Sodom and Gomorrah collapsing.

Democracy is the essential ingredient to human societal equilibrium, where we abandon it is a retreat into chaos, tyranny and political zombiism.

What is known as the Dark ages ended roughly 800 years ago, a time when human progress was frozen in time and the lot of western man was static rather than dynamic. Since that time there has been a renaissance followed by the industrial revolution. The argument has been made that we still have not adjusted to it. There is now a techno-monomania that rules the world (as manifested in the wanton militarism that defines the tyranny). This mania has steam rolled over how we govern ourselves leaving ourselves with archaic out of date systems of government that must be radically reformed.

The tragedy of America , and the west at large, is that the wrong people are in charge. The lunatics are running the asylum, when the nation’s great brain trust is relegated to the margins and scorned by lowbrow opportunists and political fraudsters.

When Joe Biden endorsed Netanyahu’s genocide last October 10th he should have been run out of office, instead he is running for a second term— no questions asked. The fact that he and Trump are the front running candidates is a crisis in itself— Both are no more than political thugs, suffering acute political zombiism.

They can not speak for our times as they don’t know the times. They are the zombies, dead to the real world. They see themselves as the elites when they are the dregs. They are the collaborators who sold out democracy. Only subhumans are capable of wanton genocide, being serial murderers, and child killers.

Where they regard Palestinians as “subhumans” they regard us as Palestinians. Empires know no fear or favor they cannibalize their own to feed their criminality. Shall we list the countries and the numbers? Ukraine and Western Europe are the latest casualties. America itself is staggering under the costs and liabilities of a dying empire and shattered democracy. It is collapsing for many of the same reasons the USSR ended in 1989—power is never immutable and always transitory.

As US Secretary of state once Henry Kissinger once announced empires only have “interests”. Now we witness how craven and psychotic those interests can become.

Winners and Losers

Tragically the West only sees the world as battle of winners and losers — where it wins and everybody else loses. What it cannot have or control it will crush. This is the imperialist/racist ethic of the west over hundreds years of colonization and neocolonialist, empires rising and collapsing.

This is a immature and barbaric world view completely unacceptable in the 21st century as we learn the limits of growth and realizing planet Earth is a finite entity. We are at a critical point in world history where how we conduct our affairs and our willingness to cooperate with others will determine the fate of mankind and the planet.

Over its 4 billion year history planet earth has had many near death experiences long before humankind appeared roughly 300,000 years ago. In that short time we have become the greatest threat ever, and our custodianship is in full foreclosure.

The West’s neanderthal political zombies are chasing a pipe dream that has eluded them for a hundred years and more, trying to claim a world never theirs to own and control and one undeserving of their naked despotism.

Berserk social engineering

When Margaret Thatcher declared there was no such thing as societies she was declaring the opening of the greatest class war ever, and class war becomes nothing less than social engineering. In her times right wing business and political partisans saw the public sector as having too much influence on the private sector limiting its growth and potential. The class war was to knock out the public sector subservient and obedient to the private sector.

The first obvious step in the war was to knock out democracy and the role of government; and indeed a stated goal of the neoliberal/ free market economy is to denigrate the role of government.

Grover Norquist’s beliefs were a rally cry for the ultra right:

"I don't want to abolish government," he said in 2000. "I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub. Cutting the government in half in one generation is both an ambitious and reasonable goal.”

Norquist’s statement embodies what the Republican party stands for today even more so. It as reactionary force intent on drowning both government and democracy and a traitor to the Republic. What was true conservatism has suffered an untimely death as Stan Tanenhaus in his book The Death of Conservatism records:

“Today’s conservatives resemble the exhumed figures of Pompeii, trapped in postures of frozen flight, clenched in the rigor mortis of a defunct ideology.”— Stan Tanenhaus

His book published in 2009 is more relevant than ever as yet another harbinger of atrocities to come.

Both liberal and conservatives are casualties of these despotic times.

Fifty years later neoliberalism has gone full cycle. There are those who claim it is dead. This is but another deception as the zombies of neoliberalism, in tandem with other ruinous ideologies, are demolishing Western Civilization.

What is cast asunder may never be retrievable.

Full cycle means the end of a cycle… the here and now. Government and democracy are gone. Societies fragmented and atomized. The values once lived have been impeached by despots, the rule of law weaponized and slandered out of existence. 500 years of humanist traditions and development have been erased in mere moments of time by zombie politics.

History is the oxygen of our existence, it orients us, defines us, and nurtures us. Where we allow it to be stolen and corrupted sociocide is the end result.

Democracy is accountability and where we allow democracy to collapse accountability follows paving the way for the atrocities we see today.

We know too well Humankind freed from social societies and civil structures, norms and values becomes the predator. The wolf in Man haunts too many souls and must be held in check by strong societies speaking loudly for truth, justice and democracy.

We, all of us, must be the calmness at the center of the storm, insisting on great change.
