The perfidious despots of the West unmasked
The masks are off, the vendetta is global leading to the final extinction.
When the corporatists plotted to take over the US Republic they created a bipolar society constantly in conflict with itself. They had to undermine the Republic, its cherished constitution, conduct perpetual wars, to create the corporatocracy that would come to rule the country. They masked their intentions with systemic lies, propaganda and hypocrisies, while inverting democracy into a totalitarian state. Only now do we see the end result.
We could have many long hours of discussion over which is the best mask in the above picture. All are valuable works of art; but according to our artistic tastes some are more valuable than other. If we aren’t partial to masks as art work we won’t like any of them. If we are racist this will influence how we see them.
If we are attracted to the clinically pristine yet soullessness of AI imagery so ubiquitous today we won’t like woody old masks from times gone by; from cultures choked to death by wars, sanctions and slow-motion-economic-genocide.
Below is a mask image from a totem pole. It is an image I am very fond of, so much so, it is my PC desk top image.
I happen to have a collection of masks from different cultures, the one below hangs above my desk. Ask me which is my favorite? I couldn’t tell you as each of them has merit and intrinsic qualities I value. They are for me“family.” Similarly, I know something of the art of countries from around the world. For me to pick favorites, again I would be hard pressed to choose because every culture is as unique as its art.
The mystic of masks has a powerful allure for us as to what lies behind the intentions of the maker, their place in their culture of origin and evoking and air of mystery. Each has a rightful declaration of its own unique exceptionalism as do the cultures they originate from.
The good old Romans created Janus as their two-faced god—the god of deceit and lying. The Janus coin is flipped as required much like flipping the bird indiscriminately. Janus is a very dangerous god as the face presented is too often the false face of lies told, hypocrisy, duplicity and compulsive connivance. Spectators must always be wary of which side of the coin is being flipped.
The concept of Janus as the faces of good and evil, lies and truth, is very expansive and contagious. It is socially virulent as it rebirths the hydra-headed monster of mythical times into a new stark reality. Myths have a way of becoming reality and we are most capable at conjuring them back into existence where they are the wakeful nightmare stalking our existence.
Guy Fawkes, born in 1570, York England, and his provincial English Catholics undertook their Gun Powder Plot in 1605. They conspired to blow up the House of Lords and assassinate King James.
Fawkes was tasked with guarding the gunpowder placed in the under croft beneath the House of Lords. However, the plot was foiled when authorities were tipped off by an anonymous letter. Fawkes was discovered on the night of November 4, 1605. He was arrested, tortured, and eventually executed for his role in the conspiracy.
Guy Fawkes has since become a symbol of rebellion and resistance, particularly through his depiction in popular culture, such as in the graphic novel and film "V for Vendetta."
Fawkes and his fellow plotters were protesting years of religious and social persecution at the hands of the protestant British, this persecution has percolated right through to modern times.
As the world is more populated, integrated and complex; and our ability to govern our affairs competently is tested to the limits. Events are of greater magnitude with far reaching consequences
Now the masks have fallen off. The bare faced lies of the perfidious despots of the West have been exposed for all to see. Brussels, London and Washington are determined to drag the world into nuclear Armageddon as their age old vendetta of trying to run the world has dissolved by their own failed machinations and they don’t have the moral fortitude to change and show an iota of contrition. They persist in living their lies. They aspire to rule the world as they cannibalize their own countries in the process.
They are the peacock emperors. The eye spots on their tails are blind, their constant fanning can’t hide the pallid lies of their tortured existences.
Now the masks are the scowls on their faces, the body language revealing the lies. The declaration that is too strident, the lack of candor of bribed souls. There is the foolishness of old legislators who don’t know the days of the week, presidents suffering their perpetual scowls, the desperation palpable, the slurred speech, the stuttering presence.
Like the pristine portrait in Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, with each act of vanity, vice and moral corruption and sinning his portrait degenerates into a haggard dissipated effigy of his former self. The men of C. Wright Mills suffering the “higher immorality”.
