When a light is shined on empires, the scoundrels run for the shadows in rage and denialism.

The problem for the US and the world at large is how many graveyards does it have to create before it gives up ghost and heads in a more positive progressive direction.

Afghanistan is the leading graveyard for empires as its rugged geography and hostile climate has laid low the British, the Russians, and the Americans. The Russians were so foolish as to hang around for eleven years, not to be out done, the Americans stayed for twenty years and spent 2.3 trillion dollars. In their haste to leave and provoke a war in Ukraine they left behind eighty billion dollars worth of equipment which served to modernize the Taliban. After their ignoble departure the US also stole 7 billion dollars in Afghan currency reserves-one of the world’s poorest countries. These are the people who would steal their grandmother’s purse.
