The Desperate Folly of The Top Banana Club
Empire's like people, have their fifteen minutes of fame
When it gets back to reality the wayward West must clean up its act and rejoin the world for the greater good of all. It can never be the top banana, but only one among many.

The root word “soc” as in society comes from the Greek meaning to live in friendship and harmony.
“Globalist elites use the woke phenom as a wrecking ball designed to destroy our history, our culture, our traditions, our religious beliefs, our monuments, our heroes, and our founders. They want to replace our idealism with feelings of shame, humiliation and guilt. They want to erase our past, our collective values, our heritage, our commitment to personal freedom, and the very idea of America itself. They want to raze everything to the ground and build their new order on the rubble. That’s what’s really going on”. Mike Whitney, “The Bud Lite revolt”
The Top Banana crowd
When British prime minister Margaret Thatcher told us there is no such thing as societies, not only was she wrong, she was dead wrong. But of course she had an ulterior motive for saying so. She was selling the neoliberal ideology which fragments and feudalizes societies in favor of the Neo-aristocracy that has successfully destroyed Western democracies.
Societies are collectives of people sharing similar values and aspirations. It is no coincidence that they are living organisms according to the dictates of human nature, and the laws and life cycles of nature. Whether people are living collectively or as individuals there is a life to be had and societies do exist.
In making her pronouncement as she was advocating for an ideology of the far right that has since proven it destroys societies. Neoliberalism took root in Western societies in the 1980’s and has since become dominant. Governments no longer govern. They are toadies to the corporations and power elites that run them. Democracy has been crushed and populations betrayed and abandoned to the whims of the war mongers and sociopathic ideologues. The power elites of the West are bound and determined to prevail and damn the consequences for the world community .
Thatcher, Ronald Reagan,Tony Blair and a host of others were founders of The Top Banana Club and Neoliberalism was just one ideology, one tool in their tool box to establish themselves as top bananas. Perpetual war, chaos and propaganda are among other favorites.
Your might say we are battling the ultimate class war as Western power elites are out to establish the new feudalism where they are the new aristocracy.
They have acquired so much wealth they grant themselves a bogus divinity. They define the world solely in terms of money and power and all other humanist considerations are shoved overboard. The shameless corruptions of the West, too much money and power in too few hands results in a less than healthy psychopathy inflicted on the world at large.
They live in a petrified self-isolating hierarchy where their only focus is more money, more power and their sociopathic behaviors become more deeply rooted.
In their delusional state, their criminality lives after them and others are left to undo what they have done.
They refuse to accept that we live in a temporal world where every living creature, being, and society is allotted a life cycle that is determined by adaptive skills, acquired and inherited .
This applies especially to empires that rise and fall like the sun in the sky. Their “fifteen minutes of fame” is determined by their ability to avoid the follies of previous empires. We constantly draw comparisons to earlier empires and repeat their corruptions and mistakes endlessly. Its called recidivism, which appears an immutable we cannot over come; especially so when we allow our democracies, their related institutions and our humanist values to fall into decay— or ripped out by fascist agents of chaos.
These self-appointed titans of the universe are really petite bourgeois who acquired great wealth in a civilization devoted to the corruptions and ideologies where wealth can be accumulated and misappropriated very quickly. It is a system designed for the predatory capitalist predisposed to ruthless exploitation.
They forget their Western fiefdom is only 13 % of the world’s population and the other 87% are now emerging and claiming their birth right. They are the beneficiaries of a global extortion racket extant for the last century; that is now being challenged as it must be. A new multipolar world is emerging, essential for the sake of planetary survival.
When it gets back to reality the wayward West must clean up its act and rejoin the world for the greater good of all. It does not get to be the top banana, but one among many.
So what about the other 87%?
While the delusional West is determined to destroy itself the other 87% are moving on and building a better world based reciprocity, prosperity for all based on a peaceful co-existence and mutual respect. Reciprocity is a word the the Collective West has to learn. Detente, and Rapprochement are also on the list.
While the East is boldly embracing the 21st, the West is stuck in the 20th, the victim of its own corruptions, ill-chosen ideologies, and its fatal addiction to wars and militarism sucking the life blood out of its own societies.
The flawed resume
The West lives in its woolly cocoon, cut off from the rhythms and cycles of history. It desperately attempts to shape the world to its own liking and obstinately refuses to accept the rights and self- determination of other nations. It sees the world only in terms of endless wars and conflict when these are no more than the death knell of empires and the cannibalization of their own societies.
The West vainly tries to deify itself as the divine leader claiming the right to rule the world where its deeply flawed resume of the last hundred years disqualifies it from any role.
The West should be directing its energies at becoming a dynamic force in new multipolar working in harmony with other nations to build a better more holistic world, instead it condemns itself to the dismal future of a collapsed empire that flew to close to the sun.
Famous for fifteen minutes- full stop!
As look back over my life I see an endless stream of famous people come and gone. As an art student Andy Warhol was the talk of the talk of the town and New York city was the Mecca of the art world. Tom Wolf was my favorite writer and wrote a novel and movie Bonfire of the Vanities. Bob Dylan was at the top of the charts and the Beatles were demi-gods for the younger set.
It was artist Andy Warhol who coined the phrase everybody has fifteen minutes of fame. It is a saying so universally true it is even more appropriate today as we see an endless stream of prominent peoples in every walk of life pass as a passing parade.
In what ever field of endeavor the lottery of life anoints many as the the top banana’s of their era where they are at the pinnacle of their fame and achievement. They become exceptional because they are recognized for their talents and achievements.
Exceptionalism can only be bestowed never self-ordained. Where it is self-proclaimed it is a fraud. Societies adjudicate who is exceptional.
Empires like people have their day in the sun. Like people, mortality is imposed them. History shows over and over empire’s suffer their own morality imposed by their very own proponents. Great Britain, once the world’s great empire, now lies in economic and cultural ruins.
An Empire will be the “top banana” according to the dictates of history, human folly and how it interacts globally with other societies in the world.
The exceptionalism of any country is predetermined by the choices it makes and the ideologies it chooses to live by. In words the constitution it sets for itself and its integrity in adhering to be and what it claims to stand for.
Great societies are revered not for what they take but what they give. Ancient Greece is revered because it laid the foundations of modern day philosophy and democracy. It also taught us about how Pyrrhic wars are, a lesson we have yet to learn.
The barbaric west knows no shame. It stumbles from one war to another, squanders trillions of dollars on militarism, cannibalizes its own vassal states, walks away from democracy betraying its own populations. It shows no regard for the sovereignty and self determination of others nations.
The barbaric West must face the stark reality its fifteen minutes of fame are over. History has passed its judgment and it is time for the West to renew itself and rejoin the world positive contributions to a rapidly changing the world.
In case you missed it
