Poilievre's fake populism... another neoliberal choir boy
Parliament is all about perks, pensions and endless prevarications attended by puerile popinjays.
I used to follow Canadian politics diligently. We were once a nation state but as time wears on corporations take over, the country is colonized, dissolving before our eyes, and our pampered government subsidized media is their apologist-in-chief. In the wink of an eye, we have become a debilitated neoliberal enclave where our Parliament is under-employed, we have too many incoming calls from Washington and we vote in lockstep with the US at the UN and every where else. It is almost as if we don’t have a mind of our own.
We have a stale-dated prime minister everybody wants to get rid of. In the international community he is a laughing stock. After a mere nine years in office he is still on his political honeymoon as the Teflon man ad infinitum. He is a bad habit voters just can’t shake… another story for another time.
Pierre Polievre is the leader of his majesty’s loyal opposition. Like the PM he is a closet neoliberal and the pallid ghost of Stephen Harper, former prime minister, and Poilievre’s political mentor. Getting rid of the feared and less than congenial Mr. Harper was the main reason Trudeau won a majority government in 2015.
Canadians don’t elect government we just kick them out of office as failed apprentices.
Poilievre’s freshly minted fake populism is playing the heart strings of Canadians desperately trying to oust Trudeau so he can assume the role of choir boy for the corporations running the country.
Pierre P. is the organ grinder who only knows one tune played too often on the same street corner under a dim light. Like Trudeau he is another grifter hustling for the perks of power and his fifteen minutes of infamy.
At a time when corporatist globalists are waging world wide, economically and militarily, committing genocide and locally choking off the last vestiges of our feverish democracy the home crowd still cheers on our neoliberal prevaricators.
Breach Media is one of the few outlets in the country that does genuine investigative journalism with real integrity. Along with a lot of other very pertinent stuff they have done an article on:
Poilievre’s ‘anti-elite’ Tories stack top council with corporate lobbyists
As you read the article you will see that in spite of the petitions of riding associations to bar corporate lobbyists from sitting on the council, they went behind closed doors and voted to allow it. This pretty well tells us where Poilievre’s loyalties are in these neoliberal times where the stated goal of neoliberalism is to denigrate and marginalize the roll of government.
Anyone who follows politics in Canada knows of endless incidences where all our national parties will subvert the wishes of voters. In committees controlled by the incumbent party they will simply shut down and walk away from issues they see as political hot potatoes to avoid scrutiny and accountability.
There is a strong lobby in the country for proportionate representation that will go a long way to re-democratizing the country. It is stonewalled even though the Liberal party promised over a hundred years ago to introduce PR. As long as the country is a neoliberal enclave PR is a lost cause.
The present broken system favors the Liberal party and the PM has publically stated he will not introduce any reform that will level the playing field for all parties. His government only has 32% of the popular vote with almost half the population, across all provinces and territories not voting. Poilievre’s CPC has 34% with fewer seats.
So much for representative government in Canada.
With neoliberalism, where one party leads all others follow with their identities and integrity stripped to the bone.
The CCPA Monitor is another source not a stranger to the truth on Canadian issues.
The corporate-government power relationship: Capture and complicity
If we think Poilievre is the alternative he is not. All our federal parties are singing for their supper from the neoliberal choir loft in full retreat from effective and responsible governance. He is a Harper clone grinding out fake populism, another straw dog on the make.
Parliament is all about perks, pensions and endless prevarications attended by puerile popinjays.
Canadians would do well to start believing in ourselves as the world beyond our porous borders is under going tumultuous change and laggards are going to be left in the dust. The free ride is over, government has to get back in the business of responsible governance.
Building back better, has never had greater relevance than now.
What the CoronaPrank taught us was that about Canuckistan politics is that now when an election comes we have 4 colours of Uniparty;
Red=Lieberals
Blue=Canadian Reform Alliance Party (CRAP)
Orange=Wannabe Lieberals but too ckicken
Green=Zionist apologists extraordinaire
The 2021 election had a mandate of, "It's CoVid1984, or else", before being changed to "Slava Ukrani".
There are no alternatives in Canada, as we are a captive vassal that allows global crime syndicate to operate quasi-legal, hence the open-ended financing of the Lithium battery plant in Ontario.
When so many have voiced disgust at the lack of quality in political candidates I have suggested to many voters to try this protest vote:
When its time to vote do everything as before; get crossed off the list, collect your ballot then proceed to the voting desk.
DO NOT CHOOSE ANY CANDIDATE - just fold up the ballot as requested return to the main table and place into ballot box.
THE CHOICE HAS BEEN MADE - THERE ARE NO ACCEPTABLE CANDIDATES TO VOTE FOR.
What would an an election outcome that chooses NOBODY suggest to the govmnt about their governance?
