Neoliberalism: Another evil from Pandora's Box

The opening of Pandora’s Box haunts our existence today. Now the lid is in the dumpster.

The lid of Pandora’s Box is in the dumpster,

The ghosts of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth walk the halls of power,

Neoliberalism , yet another bloodied knife, in bloody hands.

“Everything old is new again.”

Legend has it that mythical Pandora had a box in her possession, opened it, and released evil into the world. The truth is that Humankind is the origin of all evil in the world. We were granted the gift of free will and being human we are prone to making bad choices and inflicting evil on ourselves and others.

I have just watched an excellent production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. We wonder why Shakespeare is so highly regarded in the annals of history and why new productions of his plays are frequent. To know his plays is to know human psychology and as we say —all the skeleton’s hidden in our various closets.

Lord and Lady Macbeth made the choice to murder king Duncan, one murder leads to others and the tragedy is complete. Too much blood that just won’t wash out and lord and lady Macbeth are casualties of their treachery.

I see vivid parallels in the world today as there is too much murder, too much mayhem, too much blood that simply won’t wash out. The play is now being played again on a global scale.

I am left to wonder if Shakespeare wrote the play directed at his Anglo-Saxon brethren as it seems we have a compulsive penchant for murder and the blood of others that just won’t wash out. The ghosts of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth walk the halls of power even today wringing their hands.

The opening of Pandora’s Box also haunts our existence today. Once opened the box has never been successfully shut, even partially. Now the hinges are well worn and fallen off— take the lid and throw it in the dumpster.

Since Shakespeare’s time the weapons we kill with are much sophisticated than bloody knives. The new weapons are war, neoliberalism, inverted totalitarianism and many more. As Tucker Carlson mentioned on Twitter the issues we need to discuss are silenced by the MSM as it censors and infantilizes whole populations. The real issues of our times are never addressed.

As has been said ad nauseum, the enemy we face are not the Russians and Chinese. It is the failure of our leadership to put down their bloody knives and show contrition and atonement for their bloody crimes and a willingness to pursue the middle way. Try as they do to hide them , their bloody hands are there for all to see.

Neoliberalism is an ideology that has ruled over the West for the last half century. It is the coup d’etat where the money changers, corporations and oligarchs rule the world and national governments are reduced to being servants to the vested interests controlling them. Governments in the West are no longer sovereign. They are the puppets of their masters, and this is one reason the politics of our times is reduced to a burlesque of endless babble and pretense.

If we wonder how corporations and oligarchs come to rule it is because neoliberalism is really a get rich quick scheme/ideology where wealth can be accumulated very expediently as it robs whole nation states of their wealth and well being.

For neoliberalism war is the enforcer where intimidation, bullying, sanctions and brinkmanship don’t work. Washington, for example, is now playing a very reckless game of brinkmanship with China trying to bait it into war— with total pathological disregard such a war will have on planet earth and its 8 billion peoples.

The very big downside is that billionaires become so rich so quickly by ill-gotten means they make the brash assumption they have the right to rule the world, waging wars at their convenience. They see themselves as messianic figures entitled to control the world with their wealth and walk over the self-determination of other countries around the world. Governments and the media try to cover for them but their agenda is smeared with blood and lies

We are seeing what happens when Western Civilization abandons the values and spirit over which we once claimed ownership. We have destroyed or gutted the institutions—mainly democracy— that stabilize and drive our existence. We need to re-establish an equilibrium that excludes endless warfare.

There is nothing radical about the emerging multipolar order. It is a return to social and economic sanity after the 60 year tyranny of an American dollarized extortion racket and perpetual warfare.

As it is our bloody knuckles are dragging on the ground. We in the West are marching ourselves back to a very dark age while the rest of world moves on to greater peace and prosperity.
