NATO's Ukraine Fiasco

When a comedian goes to war the humor gets very, very dark. NATO’s Ukraine fiasco has been catastrophic. In trying to destroy Russia, western Europe and Ukraine are suffering the worst consequences.

Sadly, what could have been won by diplomacy has resulted in the ruination of Ukraine caused by Western diabolical intransigence and its delusional imperialist ambitions.

From the outset I have always seen Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy as a tragic figure. Less than three years ago the Western media was trying to sell him as “the new Churchill” saving Ukraine from the “full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine”— a lie to be sure and anybody who believes it is just another victim of Western propaganda.

He was a successful comedian before being “elected” in 2019 on a platform of peace in his time. He must have known NATO was preparing the Ukraine military for war with Russia since the 2014 coup which ousted the duly elected government of Viktor Yanukovych. Yanukovych it seems was a little too friendly with Russia. A sensible attitude as none of us want to be on bad terms with our next door neighbor. The “lady down the street” had other ideas. She wanted to start a war with Russia and she needed a puppet to play the roll of president and patriot in the empire’s war.

It soon became clear NATO was his actual employer and the CIA his mentor. They were taking on Russia and Volodymyr was their man. That a 46 year old millionaire comedian would go to work for NATO and its bloody record of under achievement is really quite astounding. This was one time he should have looked the gift horse in the mouth very carefully. Had he looked the horse in its mouth( I call Trojan) he would have found it had very sharp fangs, a very mean spirit, and just itching for war. If Volodymyr had any hesitations there was enough cash thrown around to choke a whole herd of horses.

The world would be a better place today had NATO been disbanded in 1991 when the USSR collapsed, the Warsaw pact disbanded, as the Cold War ended. There was a huge peace dividend available. Instead NATO, in all its reckless triumphalism, has been an instrument of the West’s self-destruction. No scapegoats allowed.

Where he played the role of Robin the US president played Batman. Batman had a job to do and Robin was the errand boy. Some might say it was a cringe worthy pseudo-father son relationship doused in obsequious bonhomie and too many hugs. Batman though was driving his handlers crazy when he gloated in public over blowing up the Nordstream pipeline, and saying publically the real purpose of the war was to destroy the Russian economy, force regime change, trigger a revolution or all of the above.

None of this happened as Russia was ready where NATO wasn’t. NATO forgot the basics of history. Russia has a distinguished history of repelling foreign invaders including Hitler and Napoleon. NATO has yet to learn high school history where we are told a country defending its own borders has the advantage, and the attacking forces must have three times the resources and man power.

NATO seems to have overlooked the fact Putin mandated his defense minister in the early 2000’s to build a modern military. We must also question the wisdom of NATO member states attacking a major trading partner when economic sanctions have backfired and western Europe is paying a dire price.

Zelensky was hung out to fight a war on the installment plan with tens of billions of Western taxpayer dollars spent to keep him supplied with equipment and mercenaries, always in short supply. Russia was soon prevailing. There was always a short supply of cannon fodder for Russian guns so old men and boys were dragged off the streets by Ukrainian press gangs. NATO insured the war was fought entirely at Ukraine’s expense in lives and limbs with millions of refugees fleeing the country.

In April of 2022 a peace deal had been negotiated, but then British PM Boris Johnson flew into Kiev and Zelensky was ordered to fight on regardless. Now, back working as a journalist Johnson denies his role in killing the peace deal.

NATO plays the role of the “Cowardly Lion” hiding behind the curtain egging Zelensky on as he presides over the destruction of his homeland. As usual NATO pretends to be the defender when it is the aggressor.

NATO was never concerned it had to have air superiority to win, and the promised F-16’s have yet to arrive in a war already lost. NATO turned Zelensky into a beggar boy, continually lobbying for resources, inadequate and arriving late.

Zelensky has always wanted to have the Ukraine declared a no-fly zone for Russian aircraft even though it would be an open admission this was really NATO’s war with the cowardly lion refusing to come out of its den.

Oddly enough Ukraine never was and never will be a NATO member. Membership was the carrot Zelensky would never get to grab, first he had to win the war; then get the empire to keep its promise which is unlikely. If he checked the history books he would find puppets are punctually disposed of and betrayed as required by the empire. Iraq knows well the wrath of the empire.

NATO is living up to its reputation of endless escalation and fighting another losing policing action for the empire. It is actually up against an adversary who can shoot back and fight with effective strategies.

The not-so-eminent US Senator Lindsay Graham says publically it is a good idea to kill Russians. He cries foul that Russia is stealing Ukraine’s purported 10 trillion dollars in lithium reserves when in fact they were secure had NATO not provoked the war. Graham appears willfully ignorant of the fact Zelensky has already sold off Ukraine’s resources to Western investors.

Nor does it seem to matter Zelensky’s term as president expired last May 17th and has yet to be renewed.

On August 6th Ukrainian forces launched a flanking incursion directly on Russian sovereign territory. It was no doubt carried out to steal headlines for Western propagandists and create the illusion that Ukraine is still capable of offensive actions. But the incursion is being quickly crushed as Ukraine does not have the reserve strength to hold the territory. The incursion comes under the heading of another NATO bluff for a temporary propaganda victory.

NATO’s brazen fraudulence as it pertains to its role in Ukraine is totally reliant on endless propaganda. The propaganda wall has now been shattered and the world sees the conflict for what it is— a clumsy attempt by NATO, as agent of the empire, to destroy Russia and to further advance the total capture of the Eurasian heartland as outlined by Brzezinski’s grand strategy 30 years ago, a pipe dream no longer achievable.

The Kursk incursion had everything to do with the US presidential election as propaganda to project that Ukraine was still fighting, though in reality a war already lost.

NATO has perpetrated a fiasco. It cannot escalate but only prevaricate( which is its modus operandi). It has trapped itself in a no-win situation where it can’t be seen to lose as this is another strategic blow to failing Western fortunes. It can’t win as further escalation becomes a direct threat to Western Europe (NATO’s member states) which have already been devastated by the war economically — the very high price of colonization by the vagrant empire.

As a result of the Kursk incursion Russian president Putin has announced there will be no negotiated settlement which it has always sought before and during the war.

Because of NATO intransigence and treachery, Russia has been forced to play the enforcer where it wanted negotiations from the outset. Given the sacrifice it has had to make it is positioned to set the peace terms as it sees appropriate according to its needs for national security.

For the foreseeable future western Ukraine( which Russia never had any intention of occupying) becomes a no man’s land which Russia will use as a buffer zone to defend its western border— an enforced Ukraine neutrality which was one of Russia’s original talking points for negotiations.

Sadly, what could have been won by diplomacy has resulted in the ruination of Ukraine caused by Western diabolical intransigence and its delusional imperialist arrogance.

Propaganda has a short shelf life, as we are seeing now.

NATO’s fiasco has been catastrophic. In trying to destroy Russia, Western Europe and Ukraine are suffering the worst consequences. For NATO Ukraine was one war too many, one bluff too many, an overdose of Western brinkmanship, the craziness of a senile president, a stunning ignorance of history and diplomacy, childishly poking a stick in the bear’s cage once too often.

“I have no illusions or worry about the long-term future of Russia. Russia is now a gas station masquerading as a country,” {the late Senator John} McCain said.

“They are an oil and gas company masquerading as a country,”{Senator Lindsay} Graham agreed.

Now NATO has lost a war to a “gas station” and there is some bitter crow to be eaten. Where the US Senate is supposed to be the chamber of sober second thought it is populated with senile soreheads.

Empires have no loyalties or humanism just an insatiable appetite for power, pillage and privilege… and damn the the consequences.
