NATO as Agent of Chaos
NATO stumbles from one fiasco in Afghanistan to another in Ukraine. Poor Afghanistan, poor Ukraine! How much more carnage is NATO going to be allowed to inflict on the world?
When NATO abruptly pulled out of Afghanistan in 2O21 it was obvious where it was going. After 20 years, thousands dead, and 2.3 trillion dollars spent, it was moving on to Ukraine to bestow its unloving attention on Washington’s latest illicit imperialist escapade. Ukraine became the designated pawn sacrifice for Washington’s war on Russia.
Now the sacrifice is near complete and it is a truly bloody mess. The analysts are sending out all sorts of bad news on a war that never should have happened. Ukraine is not only being destroyed it is being driven into the ground.
It is reported Ukraine is taking an unconscionable number of casualties in a war that never should have happened. One hospital reported it was taking in a hundred Ukraine wounded a day, medical back up is stretched to the limit. Troops are reported to be revolting as they are abandoned by commanders and NCOs.
Washington is desperately throwing equipment into a lost cause that should have arrived long ago. There is much speculation most of the equipment will never arrive as it is sold off in the black market. What does arrive requires qualified technicians to operate.
There will be no negotiated peace as this would be an embarrassment to Washington as the question would then be asked: Why weren’t they held last January before the war started, as Russia had formally requested?
Russia will most likely grind on until Ukrainian resistance collapses and declare central Ukraine a demilitarized zone, as a buffer zone established for the eastern provinces it has repatriated — which is what it had hoped to achieve through negotiations this time last year.
NATO has yet to grasp one of the great fundamentals of war taught in high school history — the home team has the advantage. Russia is fighting a war on its own borders and therefore has a huge logistical advantage. Wars are very much about logistics, having soldiers and equipment in the right place at the right time. For NATO, even though it has trained Ukraine troops for eight years (2014–2022) it has been scrabbling from day one of this war to get men and material in place.
Now NATO members are kicking in state of the art tanks; but by the dozen and not the hundreds required according to military analysts. Russia is known to have over 7000 tanks available as required.
Where Russia has executed carefully planned strategies to achieve its goals with a minimum loss of life and property, NATO’s response has been an open-ended ad hoc escalation aimed at weakening Russia with no regard for the plight of Ukraine — or Europe!
Now the US Rand corporation think tank has cautioned Washington it cannot afford the economic consequences of a prolonged war.
Economic sanctions aimed at Russia have back fired on Europe with great damage to it economy and standard of living. There can be little doubt as to who blew up the Nordstream pipelines to lock down their control over Europe but everybody concerned is left speechless when it comes to naming the culprit; such is the dogged determination to not face the inconvenient truths of our times.
When nit-witted NATO leaders rubber stamped Washington’s war in Ukraine it was a heinous act of betrayal against their respective countries. It does not take much common sense to see that going to war against Russia, a major trading partner and energy supplier is fraught with peril. Europeans are taught to hate Russia but their standard of living is heavily dependent on this relationship and now they are paying the price of their politicians betrayal and the egregious price of being colonized by a superpower.
When people come to realize the price we pay for being colonized we might see a very different world. The imperialist colonizer can jack up the “rent” whenever it wants, putting people in the streets and creating waves of refugees, and leaving armies of morticians exhausted.
Agents of Chaos
It is a well worn cliche of warfare that once the first shot is fired chaos ensues. Neither combatant knows how the other is going to react, the best laid plans can evaporate into nothingness, and there can be capricious interventions, ranging from bad weather to false flag incidents.
It is especially despicable to provoke war as NATO has done in the year 2022. We live in a highly integrated , highly complex world today and the collateral damage of wars reverberates around the world.
War is doubly reprehensible when the world faces existential challenges demanding our immediate attention. It doesn’t seem to matter there is a world economic crisis looming large and war is the chief cause of inflationary spirals.
History is a sorry tail. In 1945 Europe was liberated only to allow itself to be re-colonized by Washington. Now it is at war with Russia who broke the back of the Third Reich at great cost in loss of life and saved a lot of Allied lives in the process. Little wonder Russia doesn’t want NATO on its borders. Little wonder it does not trust a feeble minded Collective West ruled by propaganda and endless treachery .
De Gaulle and Keenan, True Prophets
Charles de Gaulle was president of France from 1959 to 1969. This was a time when NATO was putting down deep roots in Europe. De Gaulle refused to have foreign troops based on French soil, and with good reason. Standing armies in times of peace inevitably lead to war just as we see today.
George Kennan, a US Diplomat and strategic planner (1904-2005) echoed de Gaulle’s sentiment. He observed that always preparing for war, inevitably leads to war. Rightly so, as we have seen perpetual war since 1945.
WW ll never ended it just changed venues.
Kennan was appalled when he heard of NATO’s eastward expansion, as were so many other informed observers and diplomats who foresaw it would lead to war.
When we allow lies, treachery and propaganda to prevail over truth, decency and common sense we are inevitably doomed.
The Collapse of the USSR and America’s Folly
When the USSR collapsed in 1991 it paved the way for the crisis the world is in today. Cold War l was threatening to the World but the power of the two great empires was blunted by the others existence. There was a stability imposed on the world even though there were always tensions and conflicts between the two great powers.
Both came to the ultimate conclusion nuclear war was off the table as MAD(Mutually Assured Destruction), even so the same madness prevails and the threat is more profound than ever.
When the collapse came the USA was the lone super power and there was a huge peace dividend to be harvested by it and the rest of the world. Unfortunately the USA saw this not as an opportunity for greater world peace but an opportunity to pursue complete global hegemony.
In the the post war decades of the 1950s and 1960s the US laid the foundations for a warfare state to dominate the world. With the USSR gone it was free to pursue Full Spectrum Dominance. As Paul Wolfowitz stated in 1992 — The US was now free to use its military with impunity. This coincided with the Bush Doctrine which claimed America’s right to wage pre-emptive against any country that might challenge its dominance, thus we saw the utter destruction of Iraq and Libya. We saw the War on Terror as documented by F. William Engdahl tear apart the Middle East just as the meddlesome British had done a hundred years earlier, a former empire now suffering rigor mortis.
NATO’s role in this ongoing disaster has been pivotal. As an instrument of colonization hiding under the guise of being a defense alliance it should have been dissolved just as the USSR’s Warsaw Pact was dissolved. NATO was a stray dog for available adoption and it quickly became adjunct to the empire, mercenary to the empire’s wars, and a handy weapons cartel.
Where Europe should have kicked NATO into the boards and taken charge of its own the destiny and security its colonization became more replete and was further accelerated by formation of the EU.
Colonized countries lose the ability to think for themselves, and fatally so. Their democracies crushed and their leadership pawns for the sacrifice.
Now, with the war in Ukraine, Europe has been cannibalized by the empire it serves, having been lured into a war that has backfired on those who provoked it.
The Collective West has dissolved into a propagandist civilization based on lies endless deceptions and deep corruptions. It refuses to acknowledge the truths of its living history. It shuns the wisdom of its wise men and women, pushing them to margins the while the yahoos, Philistines, and war mongers run loose like raving maniacs shattering the pillars of abandoned democracy, decency and civility.
We erase history in preference for societal death wishes.
NATO should have been disbanded 30 years ago as was the Warsaw Pact. Leaving it in place renders all wars since as inevitable and verifies de Gaulle and Kennan as the true prophets. The fact that their warnings, among so many others, were ignored takes the measure of the pure evil and utter corruption we are seeing today.
Long ago NATO was identified by international polling as the single greatest threat to world peace. As long as it continues to exist the world is under dire threat.
“The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common: they don’t alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views.” — Doctor Who(British television series)
“Our civilization is rife with problems because it has prioritized generating wealth over solving problems”. —Caitlin Johnstone, American blogger
And don't forget NATO's 'contributions' in Libya and former Yugoslavia. I am certain the list is longer...
