Is there Salvation for Western Civilization?
Notre Dame cathedral in Paris was destroyed by fire. Western Civilization has been destroyed by ill-chosen ideologies. Notre dame is being rebuilt. When does the West start rebuilding?
In 2019 Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris France was destroyed by fire. It is one of the great religious edifices spanning the global speaking for and representing different religions and different beliefs. In their time cities and towns had flat skylines and church spires dominated the landscape. Those were feudal agrarian times when societies were much less complex. Life was short and brutal. Religion was the heart of the community and Man feared God.
Wars and religion were the two dominant ideologies of the time. God fearing Christians went off to wars at the drop of a hat. Since that time everything has changed and nothing has changed.
Our times are often referred to as Neo-feudal times and rightly so. We are all dressed up for the 21st century living in the Dark Ages of our own making.
In times gone by God was a visible entity whose spirit was exalted in vaulted sanctuaries apart from a cruel and menial world. Now those vaulted sanctuaries are effigies of a distant past. Where God was seen as an anthropomorphic entity any such existence is doubted in the agnosticism of today’s world.
The faceless ideological Gods of today exist behind their glassed walls, hiding from us in plain sight—except for those willing to see.
The question arises are we conscious societies willing to face the ideologies destroying us? Has our spirit been battered into an nonredeemable state of unconsciousness?
These glassed towers are the new towers of Babel, mass produced to block out insight and sound, insulated against truth and beauty, where everybody talks, nobody listens, nobody understands.
There is war on our state of consciousness where chaos is in itself is another ideology of social destruction. Chaos is the Devil’s handiwork attacking our belief systems to destroy our will and humanity. Where decency and civility are pushed aside the Devil’s disciples laugh all the way to bank depositing our cash and consciousness.
The new gods are the faceless sociopaths who conduct war on the world with their venal ideologies. Where we used to have only a few, we a multitude of ideologies seeing our civilization to an early demise.
The ideologies killing us
I have always contended ideologies triumph over common sense. The Collective West has suffered too many ruinous ideologies inflicted on us over too many decades. Now we are suffering the accumulated damage of these. These are just four examples among many more.
As we approach the issue of ideologies we must ask ourselves why do they exist? Who do they serve ? What are ultimate consequences of a given ideology? How does one ideology interface with other ideologies? I propose the dominant ideologies of the Collective West are utterly destructive to ourselves and potentially to planet Earth.
Militarism- It goes without saying that global militarism is an ideology completely out of control and the Collection West is the major force driving . All other nations pursue militarism as required by the endless belligerence of war mongering NATO which is clearly the single greatest threat to world peace and progress. As along as it prevails essential progress in other areas is frozen in time.
Neoliberalism- is a stealth ideology that has been with us for half a century and is a form of economic fascism. It pilfers the wealth and fabric of nation states and thoroughly marginalizes democracies.
Capitalism- Historically capitalism comes in many shapes and sizes. Its place in our societies will always be debated. In its present incarnation it is a reckless irresponsible ideology that is sociopathic and completely unaccountable as democratic governments are no more than drones in service to it.
Imperialism- Imperialism is as timeless as militarism, especially in the Collective West where it has persisted for four hundred years. It is completely within bounds to see the CW as an imperialist war machine where the constituent nations are sucked dry in service to this despotism.
All of these ideologies are inter-dependent and corrosive to anything resembling holistic societies. In the CW the race is on to fragment our societies back to feudal fiefdoms rules by a new aristocracy.
The Collective West is now collateral damage to a failing empire’s delusional hegemonic ambitions. Just as the proxy war against Russia backfired on Western Europe, the larger world crisis unfolding is also backfiring on the empire itself and accelerating its decline . As it seeks to weaken and overthrow other regimes it fails to realize the obvious— it also weakens itself in its present state of delusional omnipotence.
To simplistically divide the world into good and evil is a paranoid worldview coming at time when global cooperation and reciprocity among all nations is an absolute essential.
The odious mindset of eternal conflict
The CW is locked into the odious mindset the world is an eternal struggle between good and evil and it has ordained itself the agency of all that is good and all others are evil. This is an infantile and self-serving worldview as it becomes the pretext for endless wars and conflict, the arbitrary destruction of other nations and the cannibalizing of its own culture and those of its allies.
This mindset arrogantly denigrates cultures that are older, wiser, and in a majority position, and leaves the CW speaking with the forked tongues of hypocrisy and duplicity.
History’s immutable truths
The immutable truths of history impose harsh judgements on empires as they are destroyed by the fallible creatures who create them. The death of empires is accelerated by the depth of its corruptions, the hubris of its progenitors, and the determination of the victims of empires to liberate themselves from the empire’s tyranny.
To denounce empires is to denounce imperialism that has dominated the West for 400 years. From its infancy it was the adventurism of minor European nations raiding primitive societies. Now they are de-colonizing, fleeing from the juggernaut of the ruthless American empire determined to have its way and risk destroying the world; a world mesmerized and frozen in time because of perpetual wars.
Stripping away the overburdens of ill-chosen ideologies, willful ignorance and self- inflicted social chaos the CW is at a pivotal time in its history. It can continue its tantraumatic decline or it can pursue the ideational revolution that will bring about a more just and viable world order for all.
The future must be holistic.
History is in the witness box and it is the final adjudicator of events, its truths immutable.
