Several Japanese cities were not fire bombed. Did those residents wonder why? They should have! It was about 7 cities that were spared from fire bombing, reserved to be atomic bomb victims. Why not drop the bombs on an already burnt-out and abandoned city - it would demonstrate the blast area just fine. But no, they wanted MASS DEATH along with their bomb trial, to take out as many of those dirty Japs as possible. So yes, they DID weigh the morality of the decision, and chose the Dark Side. These deaths, and the approximately 67 regime-changes enacted by The Empire remain since WW-II are a stain on all of humanity, by allowing this Bully to continue to wrack the world.

Truman had the famous sign on his desk "The Buck Stops Here", and it never did. Like Trump he was a very weak compliant POTUS.

Truman didn't actually order those bombings; he ordered that they cease. The original plan was to rush and get them ready to use on GERMANY in 1944! Can you imagine the fallout across Europe?? But they weren't ready in time, so they had to really RUSH to get them dropped SOMEWHERE before all theaters of war were concluded. They just squeaked by and dropped them on Japan just before they were going to surrender anyway. Then the big rush to get the Japanese fed began - MacArthur sent a large fleet of whalers to the Southern Ocean and brought back tons of whales which were distributed to feed the people. Nobody reads enough history!!

Interesting, and we know much of the conventional bombing of Germany was gratuitous.

Metaphorically they speak too loud, for too long tell too many lies, indulge into many wars. The skeletons of the past like to rattle their bones, fall out of closets and make asses of themselves in public. They are jealous, angry and full of spite that their time has past. Their measure of wealth is the obscene display of gold filigree on fireplace mantels. Their incumbency is a roiling rolling scandal of past misdeeds--"catch me if you can" --is the implicit childish taunt. They exist in a state of spin, all spun out.

They see themselves as all-powerful potentates when they are mere slaves to their delusional ambitions, the donors who have bought their souls for a pittance, and the greedy banksters coveting their ill-gotten nest eggs -- so willing to destroy the world with endless war.

Skeletons talk too much, too often, they are the illiterate souls hell bent on self-incrimination.

But would we care to listen to them? I would not qualify them as 'illiterate'...they lived before becoming skeletons and their past lives experiences could count for something. Most likely many would rather not hear what they have to say...bad consciences.

I am referring to the living skeletons, the zombies who haunt the present ...should I name names?

A little misunderstanding between the 'dead' and the 'living'. The living ones must understand this...they too will join the ranks of the dead - some soon, some not soon enough.
