Hate, Violence and thuggery are the new norm

Mad leaders create mad societies

It is a bygone ideal but I still believe in leadership by example. If leaders want to lead they must demonstrate good behaviors. They are roll models. This applies especially so for politicians as they have more exposure than rock stars and the talking heads on TV news. They are custodians of nations and civilizations and a certain decorum and civility is required of them. But what happens when they are back street thugs operating in dimly lit alley ways, the shadows dark, and the light bulbs naked. Politics today has become permission to lie, cheat, steal and promote war and violence.

The video above is archetypical of what our societies have become, where hate violence and thuggery prevail. The scenario here in, is repeated over and over ad nauseam. It is programmed behavior deeply rooted and ruining the collective West where the criminality of empires and imperialism have prevailed for too long.

One of the many reasons I oppose Imperialism, war, genocide and all that other bad stuff is that we internalize these values in our societies. Too much of what we see influences us, and younger people, are especially vulnerable to it.

From a very early age the dissonance of war has been a back drop to my life. I have been so fortunate to experience it virtually, as a spectator, and never in reality. At the same time I have had a front row seat to view its horrors, and assess the social impacts war has on our societies. We are only vaguely aware of how they impact our lives even though they happen halfway around the world. I have always contended that if we understood the full social impacts of serial warfare, even on far off shores, over too many decades, they would be banished every where. Unfortunately, we have had an irresistible penchant for war and violence throughout history. The difference now is that the magnitude of wars and the insane militarism that accompany them threaten the very existence of planet earth. Where earlier wars were tribal, provincial, regional, between nations and continental; wars now have instantaneous global consequences.

Wars might be considered a form of trans-generational child abuse. When children grow up in societies where war and violence are constant, they become desensitized and come to passively accept conflict as a crippled and criminal status quo. This passivity, in turn, becomes an endorsement of their distorted reality. Warmongers are robotic, determined to make us believe that war is the natural state of the world, holding us hostage to their incompleteness and criminality. Yet, as a better and more harmonious world order emerges, they remain trapped—rats ensnared by the very systems they have created.

The war in Ukraine and the Gaza genocide must be seen in their essential context as the death throes of a failed empire assiduously recorded by history. These two travesties linger on because the war mongers and genocidists refuse to contain their rage of failure and inability to show an ounce of contrition. Their revanchism is so deeply rooted and despotic they are willing to push the world ever closer to nuclear war. Their triumphalism of thirty years ago has been dashed on the rocks of time and a temporal world. They cannot accept that their are greater transcendent powers than themselves vetoing their despotism and desperation….. “when all else fails go to war”…. ‘‘whom the gods destroy they first of all make mad”….. “Man is his own wolf.”

Control vs Chaos

In the 1960s, the half-hour TV sitcom was flourishing. Get Smart was always good for a chuckle, with Don Adams as Agent 86 and Barbara Feldon as Agent 99—agents for Control pitted against the evil forces of KAOS.

In the inverted universe of today, KAOS has become the government itself. Where it is supposed to deliver peace, order, and good governance that is representative, responsible, and accountable, it has gone astray—delivering endless wars, the most depraved genocide, systemic corruption, and what many observers are now calling “pure evil.”

The sixties, despite their heady innocence, had a much darker side, as the roots of empire were becoming deeply embedded. The era has been termed “the decade of assassinations,” setting the stage for the debut of empire, the new warfare state, forever wars, and the erasure of democracy. Empires, by definition, must negate democracy, reducing it to mere window dressing. You might say empires are staffed by schoolboy autocratic ideologues—hiding behind Liberty’s skirts as the agents of KAOS.

KAOS—also known as chaos—has come to dominate our societies. ‘86 and ‘99, as Agents of Control, are fighting a losing battle, and what was once slapstick comedy has become the tragicomedy of civilizational decline.

Hate, violence and contempt

Toxic effluents from the idiocracy seep into the foundations of society, corroding reason, integrity, and collective wisdom. What once passed as governance now churns out misinformation, polarization, and intellectual stagnation—an unchecked discharge polluting the cultural and political landscape."

On July 28th 2024, I posted: A day of reckoning as the West hits bottom. Now I see police with a pick axe smashing a car window of a man going to the dentist and ultimately he was not the assailant they were pursuing. Will the officer in question be held to account, not likely? Will the politicians who“licenced”such aggressive enforcement be held to account, even more than unlikely. Hate, violence and thuggery are the new norm.

How far into the future dare we push the day of reckoning?

As it stands now for the idiocracy of the West, the bottom appears bottomless.
