Canada must stand tall and speak for peace as nuclear war threatens.
Politicians are supposed to deliver peace, order, and good government . Instead they are cheerleaders for more and greater wars and the ruinous social and economic costs that go with them.
Canada and other NATO countries have cowered in the shadows of Washington for too long. Now they must stand tall and speak for peace and civility.
The purpose of History's Parrot has always been to speak out against wars destroying ourselves and others. We like to see ourselves as living in a safe haven. But as is becoming more and more obvious the world has been shrunk down to a point where there are no safe havens, especially now where militarism is so rampant, the world so highly integrated and populated — and most of all there is too much power and money in the hands of demented war mongers and ideologues in Washington who have been waging war on the world for the last 75 years with reckless impunity and dire consequences.
Their dream of global hegemony is long past and they cannot accept defeat and move to bettering themselves and their population. Where they should be waging peace and prosperity they wage war, pursuing their delusional megalomania with a sociopathic disregard for the global consequence of their psychotic despotism.
As analysts inform us the conflict between Israel and Hamas is escalating toward a global conflict, not only involving well armed regional players but the major powers, are all making deployments of ships and troops to the region.
Like Ukraine the West is refusing to move toward a cease fire. Instead they are escalating it into a war that could go nuclear imposing further devastating social and economic consequences.
Here in Canada we complacently sit back in the shadows of the empire thinking war does not touch us; but in too many ways, for too many decades it has been picking our pockets and destroying our national pride and place of being. This applies even more so in the US. It also applies to Western Europe which has been colonized and exploited by NATO since 1947 when it was birthed as a defense alliance, only to quickly mutate the agency for endless war run by Washington.
The days of North America’s lily pad existence where we sit back and exploit the world as we see wish are over. There are huge power and economic shifts taking place and a new world order is inevitably emerging. We are waging war when we should be waging peace and harmonious co-existence; to do otherwise is going to leave us a global hinterland on the margins in decades to come. Just as China and Russia have rebuilt their societies so must the West—MAGA—Making America Great Again— will never be accomplished with nuclear bombs and aircraft carriers.
We are not the only civilization on Planet earth. There are others and all must cooperate to built a better world. On our present course we are courting planetary extinction where everybody, all eight billion of us are potential victims. We must all accept our individual mortality but also our civilization mortality— which here in the West has been plundered from within by those we know too well. The threats we are told to fear are bogus. The hatred we are taught is the propaganda of war mongers. Our real enemies are within and must be held to account.

Canada’s Parliament has become the house of bickering partisans isolated from the realities of our time and the threats we face. Riding the coat tails of an empire is never a wholesome option where governments lose their ability to govern, become slothful and self serving, unable to conduct cogent foreign policy while alienating long standing allies. Ultimately we are shunned as an embarrassment to the conference of the twittering song birds singing out of tune with the times.
To be a colony is to live another country’s existence and a societal death wish leading to very awkward moments— when standing tall and speaking for peace and civility is mandatory. To do other wise is to be the useful idiot marching to the drums war into the abyss. To be silent is a profound breach of trust.
The above video is a critically important update on the global crisis emerging in the Middle East. Thankfully we have stalwarts like Carlson and Macgregor willing to speak truth to power.
We must never see these times as end times or Armageddon. We are a world in transition to a new and more progressive age, more just to all. The despots are trying to sell a tyranny of their own making as our only option. They try desperately to block the emergence of the essential multipolar world, claiming they must prevail. They are the very ones that must be purged to make way for the multipolar/ multicivilizational, where war and conflict are minimized by vigorous diplomacy, harmony and solidarity among all peoples.
The tedious concept of divide and conquer must be retired and the right to self-determination be accepted. The world was never intended to be dominated by racist imperialist serving the decadence of the 1%. (see letter to the editor below)
The neolithic West has yet to learn that as you approach other peoples and other civilizations with greedy malevolent intentions, they will respond and arm themselves accordingly, and the slippery slope to endless conflict is iced.
The Quisling Media
We wonder how a small clique of powerful unelected neocon ideologues can come to hold the world hostage to nuclear war. The answers are there for those willing to see. This state of moral destitution comes about after decades of endless war, lapsed democracy, corruption and propaganda.
As we see in the quote below David Rockefeller paid tribute to the media for their devoted support of the corporatist agenda:
“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years......It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years.” — David Rockefeller.
The reality of Now has been carved out by decades of lying and duplicity on the part of the media and kindred political spirits. All leading to apocrypha we are suffering now; the handiwork of false prophets working in the darkened halls of power.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine the Western media is openly propagandist attempting to obliterate the empire’s bloody history. We are treated to the spectacle of news outlets whoring themselves to the empire’s wars. The Western media has itself been a casualty of war.
The wanton breach of trust
Western political leaders have committed a wanton breach of trust. Instead of leading their peoples to peace, order and good government they have led us to the brink of nuclear war. Where they whore themselves to endless war they have demoted themselves to no more than powder monkeys to the empire’s craven wars.
Nuclear bombs and aircraft carriers do not build better societies.
For Canada it is time to re-open Parliament and start speaking the truths of our times.

If you’re confused or just don’t know much about Palestine/Israel take a look at the creation of Israel in 1948 and the Ideology of Zionism.
From the beginning Zionism was and remains a Western colonial project. As a religious nationalist project on Palestinian land Zionism followed in the Western tradition of settler colonialism. The inability of Americans to understand their own history as a settler colonial society limits the ability to understand the basics of what has been happening in Palestine for the last hundred years.
The same people that are remaining neutral today are following in the same tradition as all the people that remained neutral for the hundreds of years in which the Europeans were colonizing the “Americas,” Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia and Africa by exterminating native populations. What’s happening today and for the last 100 years in Palestine is consistent with the history of the West for the last 500 years.
America had an ideology that summed up settler colonialism very well, “Manifest Destiny,” the idea that it was divine providence that white Europeans would bring civilization to the “savages.” In the Declaration of Independence Liberal darling Thomas Jefferson refers to the indigenous nations as “merciless Indian savages.”
What Israel is doing today is a much smaller scale of what the British and Americans did to the indigenous on this continent for 300+ years. What both Zionism and Manifest Destiny have to offer people is the bribe of land and wealth. People have a long history of trading their integrity for a little land and wealth.
This history of white supremacy has been difficult to defeat because it is built on a collaboration between the working class and the ruling class. White supremacy is the most extreme form of cross class solidarity. The Palestinians are waging an anti colonial struggle, that is what so many don’t understand.
Here in California the genocide of the natives has been buried and isn’t taught in schools. The first eight governors supported and funded Indian hunting campaigns from the years 1849-1873. The “Founding Father” of California, the 1st governor, Peter Hardeman Burnett said, “A war of extermination will continue to be waged between the races, until the Indian race becomes extinct.” The next seven governors, including Leland Stanford, the namesake of the famed University, would support extermination policies, Indian hunting campaigns and vigilante violence so the white settlers could “manifest destiny.”
The last thing you need to do is remain neutral. Remaining neutral is a tacit approval of the status quo. It is only through raising our voices that we can effect change. Don’t be afraid of push back, that means you are doing your job. Be afraid of silent complicity, that means the flame of your soul may be dampened.
