All about History’s Parrot

I was recently referred to as being “history’s parrot.” I like history and I like birds in general. The label sticks. Parrots sit on their perch, flap their wings and squawk a lot which is in my nature. Like a parrot I natter on in the back ground. As parrots are prone to revealing family secrets when there is company around. I might be a little indiscreet. If you want to natter back at me please comment. If you have a really good idea all of us benefit from please share it.

I have a life long interest in history and politics and was blessed with some very inspired teachers in my younger years. I also have an insatiable appetite for understanding the world about me and the forces shaping our lives.

In these tumultuous times there is no shortage of hot stuff to write about!

With History’s Parrot I focus on history, politics and geopolitics.

I happen to think history is pretty damned important as it tells us who we are, where we have been and where we are going. Knowing and understanding the past and present gives us a good picture of where we are going — sort of like turning on the windshield wipers in a prairie thunder storm. 

 Yes, I am a hardcore anti-war, anti-imperialist activist. I contend we are at a point on the continuum of history where wars are no longer affordable. Full Stop! I also think we need to quickly establish a new world order that is more egalitarian and just for all. Full Stop!

Be assured you will learn a few things about history you don’t already know.

Hanging out with parrots is never a bad idea as we are known for our longevity.
