There is nothing radical about the truth. It only appears radical because it is not told often enough.
Identifying problems is easy. Developing solutions and acting on them is the hard part, especially in a world where despotism and darkness prevail.
I recently read a long comment by a reader on another site. She is outraged and angry over the horrific genocide the world is witnessing. She is having a hard time understanding why this is happening. I share her outrage and it is something we all have to work through… and this leads to why I blog.
You might say blogging is my personal therapist as reading and writing leads to understanding and a form of reconciliation. Understanding is the first stage of healing and calming the tensions created by the horror shows we witness. We have to reconcile head and heart.
We have to protect the integrity of our beliefs, especially when they are constantly under assault by a propagandist media that parrots what is fed to us without scrutinizing for truth or integrity. They become no more than conduits for propaganda failing a fundamental function of the media which is to report with integrity and objectivity.
It is a known fact there is very little investigative journalism in these times providing the context and objectivity we require to really know and understand the world we live in… and of course power elites want to make sure we don’t understand what is going on, leaving us vulnerable to manipulation and endless anguish.
For what it is worth here are some of the reasons I think we are seeing the travesty before us. Some of them are long standing and fundamental, others are more immediate. I break them into these two categories. These are in point form and many could be, and have been, the subject of whole books.
In following geopolitics I find there are complex sets of reasons why things happen or don’t happen, up to and including stupidity, corruption, good old incompetence and no regard for consequences. Now, having no regard for consequences is going right off the charts.
Why are we seeing naked genocide?
Fundamental
For a very long time the US and its British ally have wanted to achieve complete global supremacy. When the British empire ended after WW ll the US stepped in as the dominate global hegemon.
An essential part of achieving global supremacy is capturing the Asian Heartland which is the world’s biggest land mass and where 70% of the world’s population resides.
After the collapse of the USSR in 1991 the USA became the world’s singular super power and accelerated its drive for world supremacy with impunity. Now that impunity is being challenged by resurgent Asian countries led by Russia and China working toward a more just and essential multipolar world.
Given the inevitable rise of the Asian based multipolar world the American empire is in panic mode. It refuses to work in partnerships, insisting on complete dominion over all.
The US has no regard for the right of other nations to prosper on their own terms. This is made abundantly clear in such doctrines as the PNAC, The Wolfowitz Doctrine, The Bush Doctrine and FSD- Full Spectrum Domination. The essence of all these doctrines is they demand complete control over the world and its economy— thereby China is not seen as a competitor, but a threat. The great irony of the rapid rise of China is that American greed accelerated it.
Genocides and massacres have always been part of the imperialist agenda for hundreds of years, killing off millions. The difference now is the world is much more transparent and even with waves of propaganda the truth of the situation or incident is always emergent.
American imperialism is driven by a deeply held conviction they are God’s chosen people and destined to rule the world —the tap root of every empire’s existence. It also becomes systemic racism where all other peoples “are the white man’s burden”.
The empire is in “panic mode” as its decline is obvious and its window of dominance and impunity is slamming shut.
Voters of the West have been disenfranchised. Elected politicians no longer serve us. They are just pimping for the empire and its endless wars.
For the last 60 years the American Empire has been squandering its assets waging war on the world, while China and Russia have been focused on peace, prosperity and building their economies.
Immediate causes
The US is a warfare state and sees war as as the only means for conflict resolution. The war in Ukraine happened only because NATO refused Russia’s petitions for reasonable security guarantees.
The continued existence of NATO as Washington’s agency for global warfare
The war in Ukraine, the Gaza genocide and the escalating wars in the Middle East are irrational self-defeating aggressions, typical behaviors of an empire in decline.
Washington refuses to take an off-ramp from its role as the world’s singular super power and join the move to the multipolar world.
The above video is a significant interview with Professor Mohammed Marandi,University of Tehran, by journalist Finnian Cunningham
The government of the US has been usurped by unelected neocon ideologues who control the war agenda.
Moribund NATO member states refuse to challenge Washington’s habitual aggressions.
The US government is dominated by a very powerful Israeli lobby.
Governments are no longer accountable to the peoples who elect them but too the vested interests that control them.
The bottom line is until such time as Washington repudiates war and takes its appropriate place in the emerging multipolar world, the world will remain in turmoil and frozen in time, while huge resources are squandered and futures deferred.
The oligarchs and power elites foment this state of chaos as this serves as “cover” for their despotism blocking clear vision and equilibrium. Nothing happens until we get back to civility and equilibrium, in the meantime global futures are rapidly being degraded by endless war and despotism.
Solutions are forth coming but only after the incalculable rage of the war mongers is spent or defeated.
